Hey children, just a swift reminder that a special Grifball playlist is now available on Halo 3. What’s so special about it, you ask? Well, for one, winning teams will be awarded double XP, making their ascent through the Halo ranks (and their Spartan Officer achievements) that much easier. Second, the playlist is considered a tournament playlist, and appropriate prizes will be given to appropriate players. We’re not exactly sure how stated players will be chosen, but we’re talking about free prizes, so you might want to check it out, right? The playlist will be active until Monday at noon Pacific, so hurry up, log on, and start earning that precious XP. Don’t know what Grifball is? Get yourself learned.

The new video version of XBLA in Brief is back this week, taking a look at Rocketmen: Axis of Evil. Despite having one of the more one-of-a-kind names on Xbox Live Arcade, Rocketmen turns out to be yet another omni-directional shooter. You know, move with the left stick, shoot with the right stick. Rinse, repeat. It does throw a few extra bits into the mix, namely an RPG upgrade system that lets you level up your character and weapons. It’s not bad, but it’s definitely not great. Also, it’s worth noting that the “ending” of trial version could use some work. Worth 800 points? Based solely on the trial version, we say no. Check out the video for our full impressions.

We’re sure we don’t have to remind any new Bully: Scholarship Edition owners that the game has problems. Heck, we don’t even have to remind Rockstar, because they already know and acknowledge the problems. But we do have to tell you that the Rockstar devs are hard at word on a patch which will be deployed as a title update over Xbox Live sometime next week. They also wanted to “apologize wholeheartedly for the inconvenience that this matter has caused some owners of the game”. A whole hearted apology and a Bully fix within seven days. Now that’s the caring Rockstar we’ve come to know and love.

Ahh yes, the 80s. When neon colors ruled fashion, TMNT were the hawtness, hairstyles defied gravity and the movies were all so easy. And this week, Video Marketplace Weekly is taking you back twenty some years to those times with the release of a handful of 80s flicks. Movies including the Keaton edition of Batman, Bull Durham, Purple Rain, A Fish Called Wanda and Back to School. But you don’t have worry. We know there are a choose few of you out there who don’t embrace the awesomeness that was the 80s, so for you, there are also newer releases like March of the Penguins and Fierce People. No matter what your tastes, hopefully you find something rental worthy tonight after browsing this week’s XBVM releases which we conveniently outlined after the break. Take in the 80s, live the 80s, love the 80s.

With rumors of European Xbox 360 price cuts flying around, we have yet another 360 hardware rumor making the web rounds and it targets the 360’s hard drive.

According to TrustedReviews and their “rock solid source”, they’re claiming that Microsoft has plans to replace the Xbox 360 Pros’ current 20GB HDD with a more massive 60GB drive by this June. A move that isn’t all that far fetched seeing that they probably want to to help accommodate all that HD content they want you to purchase off the Marketplace. TrustedReviews ratchets up the rumor mill even further by saying that their insider told them that Microsoft is bouncing around the idea of adding yet another SKU to the 360 lineup. A new console that would reap the fruits of the rumored Sony / Microsoft negotiations and feature a Blu-ray drive. So, is anyone willing to take a stab at what the rumored 60GB HDD or Blu-ray equipped models would be called? We’ll be trail-blazers and go with “Xbox 360 Six Pack” for the 60GB model and “Xbox 360 HD DVD Died So Blu-ray It Is” for the Blu-ray version.

If you’re like us, we need a fresh coat of new gamer picture paint ever once and a while. You know, to keep things fresh and lively. But our only requirement is that all gamer photos we grab from the XBLM must be free. Call us old fashioned, but that’s how we roll. So, we’re happy to share with you that two new sets of motion picture themed gamer photos (and dashboard themes) are available to U.S. Xbox Live members for free.

Right now on the XBLM, you can grab a free Hitman the movie gamer picture pack and theme as well as a free gamer picture and theme from Owen Wilson’s comedy Drillbit Taylor. Like we stated, all four sets of downloadable goodness are free and are (surprisingly) quite well done. Especially the Drillbit Taylor pack. You’ll have to download to see, but for some reason those gamer photos make us crack up.

Pandora’s Box has been opened, werewolves roam the streets, giants crush buildings and griffins soar through the air. Welcome to Legendary.

This latest teaser trailer for Legendary, a title formerly known as Legendary: The Box, features alpha gameplay footage of death, destruction and disease (well, maybe not disease) that’s making us start to believe that opening Pandora’s Box probably wasn’t the ideal idea. And, if you can get past the video’s jerkiness, you’ll see that Legendary is promising, but has a long way to go to to distinguish itself among the 360’s highly contested FPS catalog. Though, we have to give Legendary some props. The design team did an A+ job on Legendary’s logo, it’s so sleek, magical and … box’less

Major League Baseball 2K8 has been on retail shelves for all of a few days and already 2K Sports has released downloadable content to the XBLM. Usually we’d be angry when a developer releases new DLC the same week the game comes out, because A) it should have been included on the disc and B) we know they simply want to make a few bucks off the held back content. But, in this case, it’s actually a good thing because the MLB 2K8 content is free. W00t, w00t! So, if you picked up you copy of MLB 2K8 this week and live in the U.S. or Canada, head to the XBLM and get your three free MLB 2K8 DLC downloads including the 2K8 Minor League Stadium Pack, Majestic Cool Base Uniforms and the Card Series 2 roster update. Free downloads FTW!
