Sega reveals a ripped and veiny The Astonishing Hulk for a lot of gaming systems
Posted by: admin in PS3 Game News
This June, Edward Norton and Liv Tyler will star in an all-new film adaptation of Marvel’s The Breathtaking Hulk. We all know what that means … videogame adaptation time, baby! Today, Sega has officially revealed the upcoming The Amazing Hulk videogame for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and DS. Oh, and the PlayStation 2. And the PC.
Sega are referring to the game as “an intensely realistic third-person action” game, which only applies to you if you live in a world where gamma radiation regularly turns people into violent monsters. In any event, the game will have the pre-requisite Hulk destruction, where players will be able to demolish all kinds of crap all over a digital, open-world New York City.
I’m all for smashing stuff, but I’m not sure how I feel about the look of the Hulk, which mirrors his look in the upcoming film. Is it me, or does he look like a green turd? Check the gallery below for images of the next-gen and Nintendo DS versions of the game — cookies and milk for those who can figure out which is which!

I’ve had my eye on Spark Unlimited’s Legendary since day one. It was a pretty simple equation, really — a first-person shooter plus werewolves equals a game after my own heart. Since we saw the game last year, the game has lost its (arguably) silly sub-title “The Box,” and is looking more and more polished as the game inches closer to its release in the third quarter of 2008.
Legendary puts you in the pants of master thief Charles Decker, who is tapped by a high-ranking member of a mysterious group called the Black Order to steal what you’ll soon learn is Pandora’s Box. You unwittingly open the box, which releases creatures of myth and legend into the modern world. Gryphons, werewolves, and other abominations start to tear apart the world, which (as you can imagine) is bad news bears (or wolves).
You’re then wrapped up in a 1,000-year feud between the Black Order and a group called the Council of 98, both of which have very different ideas of how Pandora’s Box should be used to, uh, shape society. As Decker, you’re fortunate enough to have been imbued with a power that in effect makes you the key to Pandora’s Box, and that right there makes you an exceptionally important person. Torn between the two sides, you set out to not only discover the truth, but hopefully put those damned gryphon back in that damned box. And you thought seagull poop on your vehicle is bad…
By the time you get to the game’s fifth episode — a portion of which Spark Unlimited let us play at EIEIO 2008 — things are getting more than a tiny out of hand. Hit the jump to find out just how crazy rampaging werewolves can get.

Shocking! DualShock 3 is the #2 seller at Amazon games
Posted by: admin in PS3 Game NewsI guess it’s not really that shocking, right? People are just getting ready to rumble, so to talk.
I will say that the price is right on this Amazon pre-order item. You can nab a DualShock 3 for $49.99 with free shipping. That’s saving buyers about $10, seeing as how that price point is $5 less than the MSRP. Perhaps that’s why it ranks number two in the videogames division of Amazon.com, just right behind Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
We’re still about one full month away from the DualShock 3’s release. I didn’t think it would make that huge of a buzz (excuse the pun) at launch, but this proves me wrong.
When we stated that the PlayStation 3 outsold the Xbox 360 in January, Destructoid’s readership was not surprised. Now Microsoft gives us a heads-up on the February NPD numbers, and they think that the PS3 will beat them out again. Are you surprised?
Ah, but Microsoft is not taking it like a man (men?). Again, they’re playing the “console shortage” card, even though an analyst recently said that there’s an “ample supply” of Xbox 360 consoles now available. They follow this claim up with harsh words:
“Our expectation is that because of our shortages at retail during February, we will sell less than PS3,” Xbox 360 group product manager Aaron Greenberg told Next-Gen. “That’s not a surprise to us. I don’t know what Sony’s reaction will be to that, but it will definitely be a bit of a hollow victory. The competition sure didn’t show up [in February].”
Microsoft, it’s okay to be outsold. Really. The PS3 was outsold for about a year! Let’s be a good sport.
We’ll know the actual numbers sometime later this morning as the NPD numbers for February come out.
[Thanks, JR]
Tomb Raider comes to on the internet video slot machines. Finally!
Posted by: admin in Online GamingFiled under: Personal computer, On the web
If there’s one thing we here at Joystiq constantly find ourselves thinking while playing Tomb Raider games, it’s “Man, if only this experience could be translated into an online video slot machine.” Well someone at Belle Rock Entertainment must have had a window into our souls, because the group has just unveiled Tomb Raider: The Secret of the Sword, a new video slot for their on the internet casinos.
The machine isn’t based directly on the games, unfortunately. Instead, it promises to “faithfully capture the gripping excitement and suspense of the original movie” with “a glossy 5 reel 30 pay-line multi-faceted package.” Fans of the movie will be happy to know that the “randomly triggered Super Mode” and “Global Adventure Bonus” have been faithfully captured here. The Secret of the Sword joins a similar Hitman slot machine in the annals of lame cross-marketing ideas for Eidos products impressive and engaging Eidos slot machine ports.
