The PS3 Fanboy GOTY, Call of Duty 4, is set to expand its multiplayer offerings later this year through its first DLC. Chinatown is one of the first revealed maps, and GT Television is proud to present an exclusive first look at the new map. CoD2 vets may recognize the map, but expect it to have a totally different feel in CoD4. It’s still one of our most played online games, so we’re glad to see how well the new content is shaping up.

Ah, Prey. I remember hyping myself up for it, large time. After everything was said and done, I still enjoyed what the game had presented me with, despite its shortcomings. Sure, the tiny afterlife mini-game was cool at first, but it made Prey far too forgiving in the long run.

We’ve known a sequel to Prey was likely going to reveal itself at some point, and it looks as though that time has come. Shacknews has gotten a hold of a few tidbits about Prey 2, including the terribly small concept art below and a brief description of the game’s plot:

“This time, abandoned and framed for the disappearance of his family, Tommy escapes an Earth that no longer wants him for a future that cannot survive without him.”

I have the ability to only hope that the memorable aspects of Prey (walkable walls, gaping wall vaginas) make an appearance in the sequel, while the minor issues that plauged the original are addressed as well.

IGN sat down with EA Los Angeles executive producer Chris Corry to discuss the upcoming multi-platform RTS, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3. Several new info regarding the previously revealed new faction, revamped naval combat, and co-op campaign mode have surfaced.

One of the most delightful changes in RA3 is how there’s a stronger emphasis on naval combat. Corry talks about how battle maps will now contain more water bodies, and that there will be amphibious units that can go on both land and sea. The biggest shocker about this focus on aquatics is that players can now build their home base out at sea. Corry states this will add a big amount of strategical value to the game as there’s more of a reason to evenly build and command navy, air, and land unit.

Another large item, is the co-op campaign. The game is designed around gameplay for two people and is all about “coordinated assaults.” Even if there isn’t a buddy around on the internet to play with, there will be a selection of unlockable AI generals to help you out. Each general will have a one-of-a-kind personality and strategic style. Moving things onto the new Empire of the Sun, Corry reveals they’ll be the most technologically advanced out of all the factions. Corry doesn’t confirm there will be super giant robots though, but he does confirm that “transformation plays a significant role in [the Japanese] faction.” Sweet. Will we be seeing vehicles combine too?

It’s not every day games go “platinum” before they’re even released. Generally, this occurs with large titles, but even taking that into account it’s an uncommon feat. Factor into that the notion that a game whose title explicitly says it’s a Prologue to a full game … and it’s nearly unbelievable. But in Europe alone, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has achieved just that: one million pre-orders.

What we need to remember is that the pre-order number isn’t only for Europe alone, but also just for the Blu-ray release of the game — not the downloadable version. If half of the people who intend to purchase the game pre-order it and the other half download it, well, this is going to be massive. Add America and Japan into the mix and we’ve basically got the best-selling PS3 title to date; at least, that’s what we’re assuming will happen. What about you?

Capcom’s VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development, Christian Svensson, has a series of answers up on the Capcom blog clarifying why the company decided not to run a PS3 Beta for Street Fighter II HD Remix. Svensson stated that a major issue was a lack of resources; the necessary time, effort, and funds needed to run a parallel Beta would cause delays in the production schedule. While that’s all understandable, this last part is a bit tough to swallow though, ” … any issues found in 360 will be fixed in PS3.” We certainly hope so.

Now, giving Capcom the benefit of the doubt, the company’s PS3 and 360 e-distribution games are usually on par with each other. Svensson backs this up by reiterating that Capcom is “the only third party publisher doing cross platform, simultaneous digital releases.” This is pretty much true. Super Puzzle Fighter, Rocketmen: Axis of Evil, and the company’s other upcoming offerings all reflect this. Let’s just hope that when it comes time to play, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix on the PSN will be bug free.

Rob Yascombe is a name PS3 fans might want to remember. His performance in this stunning Sci-Fi channel promo is one for the books — the crazy books, that is. The video is all about Haze, the upcoming PS3 FPS game (ignore the Xbox 360 dev kits in the background, please!). While his explanation of Nectar and Mantel are familiar, he reveals a few tidbits, such as the massive length of the script: over 1000 pages long. The Royal Shakespeare Company is also partaking in the voice acting and they only go where there’s either: a) a lot of money, or b) a great script. Supposedly, they didn’t have too much money.

For gaming enthusiasts who enjoy a good minor league baseball game each now and then, we’d like to turn your attention to the Xbox 360 sponsored Family Fun Fest that’s traveling the great U.S. of A. this Spring. The Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest is an event that’s currently touring the country, where minor league baseball attendees can partake in family fun. Family fun playing Xbox 360 games including Rock Band, GHIII, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Burnout Paradise and, of course, MLB 2K8. Again, the Family Fun Fest will be traveling to stadiums on the minor league baseball circuit through August, so be sure to check out the schedule to see if you’ll be able to experience 360 gaming while attending a baseball event. We’re also hearing rumors that the Xbox 360 crew is giving out free hotdogs and Cracker Jacks to all the top Rock Band performers … but that’s just a rumor.

Turn 10 has been busy as a beaver as of late, releasing new vehicle packs and new racetracks for Forza Motorsport 2 over the past few months. And, lucky for us, March will be one of those grand Forza 2 DLC months with the announcement of the upcoming March Vehicle Pack.

Odd thing about this new March Car Pack is that we have yet to hear the announcement come from Turn 10 or Microsoft’s mouths, as we learned of its existence from an exclusive DLC trailer (embedded above) that was released last night. So that means we don’t have too many details pertaining to its cost or what’s exactly included in the pack, though fans in the Forza 2 forums pretty much nailed down which new vehicles the DLC will offer. What we do know is that the Forza 2 March Automobile Pack will come packed with brand new rides and be released next Wednesday, March 19th. So hold tight, plant your feet firmly on the ground and hope that Turn 10 is generous in their pricing (ahem, free?)

Sound the alarm and wake up your neighbors, because this week’s Bungie Weekly Update confirms that next Tuesday, March 18th Bungie will reveal nearly all there is all to know about the Legendary Map Pack. Details including the unveiling a new mystery map that’ll join the already announced Ghost Town, other random informative bits as well as a specific release date for the new DLC. And to get us pumped for Tuesday’s huge reveal, Bungie posted four new images (all viewable in the gallery below) of a few automobiles we’ll be seeing in the soon to be announced map and, wouldn’t you know, they all have a wintry white paint job. Winterized vehicles including traditional rides like the Warthog and Mongoose as well as a snowy Scorpion and a re-balanced Hornet minus those damn, overpowered tracking missiles. So, using this knowledge and our expert analytical skills, we have the ability to pretty much confirm that one of the two yet to be announced Legendary maps will be full of snow and will be HUGE. Oh how we can’t wait until Tuesday … joy, joy, joy!
