This June, Edward Norton and Liv Tyler will star in an all-new film adaptation of Marvel’s The Incredible Hulk. We all know what that means … videogame adaptation time, baby! This day, Sega has officially revealed the upcoming The Astounding Hulk videogame for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and DS. Oh, and the PlayStation 2. And the Personal computer.
Sega is referring to the game as “an intensely realistic third-person action” game, which only applies to you if you live in a world where gamma radiation regularly turns people into violent monsters. In any event, the game will have the pre-requisite Hulk destruction, where players will be able to demolish all kinds of crap all over a digital, open-world New York City.
I’m all for smashing stuff, but I’m not sure how I feel about the look of the Hulk, which mirrors his look in the upcoming film. Is it me, or does he look like a green turd? Check the gallery below for images of the next-gen and Nintendo DS versions of the game — cookies and milk for those who can figure out which is which!
Fact sheet — and the cookies and milk — after the jump.

I’ve had my eye on Spark Unlimited’s Legendary since day one. It was a pretty simple equation, really — a first-person shooter plus werewolves equals a game after my own heart. Since we saw the game last year, the game has lost its (arguably) silly sub-title “The Box,” and is looking more and more polished as the game inches closer to its release in the third quarter of 2008.
Legendary puts you in the pants of master thief Charles Decker, who is tapped by a high-ranking member of a mysterious group called the Black Order to steal what you’ll soon learn is Pandora’s Box. You unwittingly open the box, which releases creatures of myth and legend into the modern world. Gryphons, werewolves, and other abominations begin to tear apart the world, which (as you can imagine) is bad news bears (or wolves).
You’re then wrapped up in a 1,000-year feud between the Black Order and a group called the Council of 98, both of which have very different ideas of how Pandora’s Box should be used to, uh, shape society. As Decker, you’re fortunate enough to have been imbued with a power that in effect makes you the key to Pandora’s Box, and that right there makes you an exceptionally important person. Torn between the two sides, you set out to not only discover the truth, but hopefully put those damned gryphon back in that damned box. And you thought seagull poop on your car is bad…
By the time you get to the game’s fifth episode — a portion of which Spark Unlimited let us play at EIEIO 2008 — things are getting more than a tiny out of hand. Hit the jump to find out just how crazy rampaging werewolves can get.

I think it’s safe to state that regardless of what game you’re playing, if a rollergirl is yelling “Kick his ass!” in your ear, it’s going to be a special experience.
That was how I spent my time at EIEIO while playing Wideload Games’ Hail to the Chimp, the upcoming multiplayer-focused party game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. In a small outdoor patio area on the main floor of Stubb’s Bar-B-Q in Austin, I spent about twenty-minutes battling other gaming journalists for clams … to the soothing sounds of hollering rollergirls.
“F**k ‘em up, Murgatoyd, f**k ‘em up!” an excited crew of rollergirls rooted from behind me.
The rollergirls were just getting into the spirit, backing their favorite Hail to the Chimp candidate, a pink jellyfish that garbles speeches and swats at opponents with her tentacles. While most party games don’t need a premise (can someone explain to me what’s happening in any of the 18 versions of Mario Party?), Hail to the Chimp has a narrative in place to hold it together. The king of the animal kingdom, the Lion, has been dethroned, and ten animals battle it out to gain votes (clams) to become the new ruler of the animal kingdom.
“Get the clams, Daisy! Get the f**king clams!”

As most of you know, team Infinity Ward is jumping head first into the DLC pool by bringingtfour new multiplayer maps to the Call of Duty 4 community sometime this Spring. One of the four new CoD4 maps being a remake of the uber popular CoD2 map Carentan, now prettified, set in Chinatown and is called … Chinatown. Fitting. And Mr. fourzerotwo himself (with the help of Geoff Keeley) has just given us our first glimpse of all the Chinatown action with the release of a teaser video which we’ve embedded above. Watch, drool, look at the pretty lights and wait patiently for tomorrow. Fourzerotwo promises that new Call of Duty 4 DLC details will hit the news wire and it’ll make a gigantic news KABLAAM!
[Thanks, CB]

It has been confirmed to us that the wait is finally over. Europeans can get their hands on PAIN, as well as a few add on packs (probably the character packs already released in the US) this coming Thursday. With last week being described as “the last bad update for a while”, things should pick up from now on. Yeah. How many times have we heard that one?
The localisation issues that cause these ridiculous delays (it’s been four months since PAIN was released in America) are due to be addressed at some point in the near future. At the danger of sounding like a broken record, something needs to be done, so we’ll look forward to these discussions with cautious anticipation.

So last week had a pretty good line-up with lots of different movies to select from. This week, the choices are trim. There’s only two movies this time around: I’m Legend and Disney’s Enchanted.
Both flicks are pretty good — I am Legend especially. If you had picked up Independence Day and/or I, Robot from last week, then you could begin a Will Smith marathon. Fresh Prince of Bel-Air next please!
