This morning, Midway passed along the long-awaited (well, by somebody…right?) list of Ballers who will be playable in their upcoming arcade basketball title, NBA Ballers: Chosen One. The full list features 81 NBA stars altogether: 67 present-day ballers, alongside 14 of the game’s legendary players.

They also put together a short montage that shows off in-game renders of each of the Ballers’ faces, as well as some previously unseen game footage. You can check that out above; the complete roster (in no particular order) is available after the jump, so you can start your cheering and/or complaining in the comments.

It’s a pretty solid group of players, and there’s plenty of variety, even among the legends. But how can you’ve an arcade basketball game, which is ostensibly all about doing crazy things with a basketball (including dunking), and not include Spud Webb? I call shenanigans!

NBA Ballers: Chosen One will be out for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on April 21st.

Last night when I posted information about another 50 Cent videogame being in the works, you guys were all like “Shut up, really?” and “No, please God … no!” Fair enough, but nothing can stop the impending release of Vivdendi Games’ upcoming 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand. Nothing.

MTV News has beat Electronic Gaming Monthly to the punch and has revealed the first information on the upcoming Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game scheduled to hit this fall. Powered by the Unreal Engine 3 graphics tech, Blood on the Sand has a cooperative element not unlike Epic’s Gears of War (one player will play as 50 Cent throughout). The game will have drop-in/drop-out play both online and off, and will feature original music by Mr. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson III himself.

More info and screens of 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand can be found over at MTV News.com. Though if this game is as good as Michael Jackson’s comeback single “Blood on the Dance Floor,” then we’re all in trouble.

I’m not sure what Dark Sector’s lead Hayden Tenno thought he was getting into when he signed up for the “elite black-ops agent” program, but it’s hard to feel bad for this guy. Sent by his agency on a dangerous assassination mission in the (very fictional) Eastern European war-torn city of Lasria, Hayden should have been prepared for anything. In this instance, “anything” means having his body modified by an infection that gives him inhuman capabilities. You know, the usual — the power to become invisible, to generate a projectile reflecting shield, and to grow a boomerang-like blade out of his hand.

It’s these capabilities that really set Dark Sector’s gameplay apart from other third-person shooters you’ve already played. But it’s hard not to immediately think of Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 when you pull the left trigger to aim for the first time, and the camera pulls in tight across Hayden’s right shoulder. Digital Extremes unapologetically snatch up elements of Epic’s Gears of War, with a similar cover system and a near-identical CNN-style camera “roadie run” mechanic. There’s even a hint of Ninja Theory’s Heavenly Sword’s “aftertouch” system that is used to manually guide Hayden’s blade-a-rang, the Glaive, through the air.

Hit the jump to find out if Digital Extreme’s obvious nods to “the greats” holds up on its own.

April 15th has long been notoriously associated with tax deadlines, but thanks to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue being released on that day, gamers at least have something positive to look forward to. Many of you are still on the fence about spending money on it, just to go back and buy the full game later on down the road, and that’s understandable.

However, Associate Producer of SCEA Chris Hinojosa-Miranda wants to remind you that the full fledged game is still at least a year away, and that by skipping Prologue, you’re only doing yourself a great disservice. Also, ice cream:

Reports have been coming in that Sony’s Computer PlayStation Store has been the latest victim of hackers, even though the extent of the unauthorized break-in appears to be minimal. According to Sony’s own consumer alerts page:

Sony’s SOCOM Confrontation plans to tactfully invade stores on September 16, but first will deploy a new community site beginning this day. 1Up reports SOCOM.com will provide news updates and a forum leading up to the game’s arrival. After the title launches, the site will provide “real-time stat tracking, clan management tools, and more.”

EGM’s Might issue looks to provide a plethora of information on the upcoming PS3 title. With SOCOM’s Sept. date, it appears Sony is really stacking its massive announced titles for the last few months of the year. Begin dropping change in the coin jar now because holiday ‘08 is already looking just as brutal on the wallet as ‘07.

Sony has dropped details of a possible security breach in the PC PlayStation Store, whereby a “small percentage” of PSN user accounts could have been compromised. A consumer alert on PlayStation.com assures account owners their credit card numbers are likely safe, but their passwords might be changed. In addition, unauthorized access might permit an intruder to use the PS Store ‘Wallet’ and view any stored personal information.

While Sony claims that “system security is restored” and all potential victims are being directly contacted, the alert does “strongly suggest” that you sign into the PSN service and verify that you still have access to your account … You still do, don’t you? Muwhahaha!

Hey everyone, Denzi312 here with Sitting 3 of his IWBTG walkthrough. I’ve decided that since I’m making a sort of series out of this (Rather, this is something I plan on doing regularly) that it deserved a name. As such I have dubbed my series ‘How 2 Play’ or [H2P]. I like the name myself, as that’s what I am/will be doing in my videos, showing you (the audience) just HOW to play the…
