Sacre bleu! Something odd seems to have happened to our favorite sardonic on the internet flash quiz for its March 31 edition (embedded above). Questions like “Repeat after me!” and a comparison between lines from Great Expectations and Jackass 2: The Motion picture seem totally out of pace with the game’s usual punishing difficulty. Don’t even get us started on the “repeat after me” Jack Attack, which could probably be completed by a mentally handicapped surrender monkeys (cheese-eating or non).
We can only hope this is a one-time glitch, and not a trend that will last past through the beginning of the fourth month of the year …

Over the next few weeks developers are attempting to keep as much attention on their games as possible prior to the release of Grand Theft Auto IV.
Infinity Ward is no exception with an upcoming map pack for their Xbox Live hit, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The four map downloadable package includes Killhouse, Creek, Broadcast (pictured above) and Chinatown and will run gamers 800MS points when it launches on April 3 on Xbox Live Marketplace or via the Game of the Year edition set to hit retail soon.

A few days ago Game Trailers nabbed the world exclusive first look at the movie adaptation game of The Astonishing Hulk and gameplay footage of the Iron Man motion picture adaptation game as well. Our indifference to the Hulk trailer made us completely glaze over the latest footage of Iron Man. While, so far, the game looks nice we did notice how barren the world is. We’ve seen very tiny outside of the desert environment and, even though they’re pretty, we’d like to see more before we decide what to think about SEGA’s upcoming movie tie-in. So X3F Army, after checking out the footage we ask you … what do you think?

Earlier in the day we reported that tomorrow would bring “Still Alive,” the end sequence tune from the smash-hit Portal, to Rock Band. Well, fire up your Xbox 360’s fanboys and girls because Christmas has come early as “Still Alive” is available on the Xbox Live Marketplace this day. This day, Ubisoft wanted to make it known that Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a success, selling 2 million duplicates worldwide since its release a few weeks back. And Ubisoft also wanted to make it known that those 2 million sales were a massive surprise, even to them. So, with RSV2’s success and Assassin’s Creed doing superior than expected, the number crunching Ubi crew decided to increase their fiscal guidance for 2008. And that’s a good thing. We love seeing everyone over at Ubi doing their happy-happy dance which they do exceptionally well when $1.5 billion in sales rains down from the gaming heavens.

ComingSoon.net recently had the chance to speak with Temple Hill Productions producer large man Wyck Godfrey about the status of the Gears of War movie and where it’s headed. Godfrey confirmed with them that their team has a finalized script, almost has a director attached to the flick and are scheduled to begin filming “early next year for [release] the summer of 2010″. A Summer 2010 release, not too shab.
And to recap: It’s good that the Gears of War movie hasn’t gone the way of our long time shelved (but still promised) Halo motion picture. The bad is that we’ve to wait until at least 2010 to see Marcus chainsaw his way through a live action locust hell. Who wants to bet that Cliffy will be making a cameo? Any takers?

Microsoft and the Safran Digital Group have just settled on a deal that’ll have Safran creating six short running series’ that’ll premiere on the Xbox Live Video Marketplace sometime this Summer. Safran, who we’re told is a new web production company, will more than likely create content targeted towards the 18-34 demographic with media in the horror, comedy and science-fiction genres. Details are still extremely light as we’re yet to hear whether the content will be available worldwide, distributed for free or advertiser driven. And, if by chance, the video shorts end up being free and entertaining, we’ll make Safran an honorary member of our elite cool children club.
