True Games Interactive, Petroglyph team up for free-to-play online game
Posted by: admin in PC Game NewsA new on the web gaming publisher, True Games Interactive, has announced today that it will be teaming up with Petroglyph (Star Wars: Empire at War, Universe at War) to develop a new online game. Details are sparse on the free-to-play Computer game, but the title will contain a large microtransaction element.
True Games and Petroglyph are taking an interesting approach to launching the game globally, too. The team will work with leading publishers in different territories around the world to adapt the game for individual “cultural tastes.” Many worldwide products add international markets and partners late in the development, or even after the game has launched.
“Many Free-to-Play games on the market today have already launched in other territories giving the U.S. market tiny to no input into the development and features,” said Bob Drobish, Chief Operating Officer at True Games Interactive, in today’s press release. “This product will be a true cohesive effort between the development and publishing teams and we’ve total faith it will produce a high-quality product.”
I know how much some of you guys hate paying for additional content — God knows we received 5,477 emails about Battlefield: Bad Company. But if a free title is good enough on its own, would it warrant dropping a few bucks to enhance the experience? (P.S. — True Games Interactive’s Web site has some hot beats.)
