I think “three” is a weird number of game screenshots to release, but I’m not going to complain. Cryptic Studios’ Champions On the internet sounds and looks, as the kids state, “totally sweet.”
Like Cryptic’s PC-only massively multiplayer online role-playing games City of Heroes and City of Villians, the upcoming MMO for Xbox 360 and Personal computer puts gamers in the role of their very own custom hero. Players will also design their own arch-nemesis, who will play a role in the game’s story. Gameplay is stated to be more action-oriented than typical MMOs, with buttons mapped for different attack types and the shoulders set aside for defensive actions.

Grand Theft Auto IV is many things, but one thing it is not is THQ’s Saints Row. But maybe someone should tell Canadian retailer Future Shop (owned by Best Purchase Corporation), who clearly doesn’t seem to know the difference.

Sony has revealed the first details on the forthcoming expansion, PixelJunk Monsters Encore, and as far as I’m concerned, it might as well be an entirely new game.
The expansion adds one new island to the game, Toki Island, which will offer up 15 new levels, and five new musical tracks by Canadian musician, Otograph. Additionally, a few tweaks have been made that’ll only make sense to those who have played the original; the Ice Tower is now a stock item, and the cost of the Tesla Tower has been reduced.
The expansion is set for a Might release, but no pricing has been announced. Deb Mars has nice interview with Q Games’ Dylan Cuthbert which you can read on the PlayStation Blog, which I’ve to state is better than the interview I conducted a few months ago. She a Senior Producer at SCEA, and I’m just the dude who plays PixelJunk Monsters in his underwear. What do you want from me?
I’ve been pretty much head over heels for PixelJunk Monsters since its release earlier this year, but I have to admit it’s been a while since I’ve played. I’m thinking Encore is going to reinvigorate my interest. Who’s with me?

It has come to our attentive attention that Epic Games president Michael Capps will have the honor of doing the keynote presentation on August 18th at this year’s GC Developer’s Conference in Leipzig, Germany. Not all that exciting of news if it wasn’t for the fact that Capps’ speech will include a discussion about Gears of War 2 and its development progress. Yum! That stated, we might be full to the brim with GoW2 details, visual goodness and info that’s expected to come from July’s E3 conference. Wait, what are we saying? We can never have too much Gears, bring on the August Capps!

When the open world smash-em-up Prototype was first revealed, online multiplayer was one of the most exciting features on the docket. Unfortunately, it was discovered last month that the feature (both on the internet and off) has been removed from the game so the team at Radical Entertainment can focus on the single-player experience. For those who lamented the loss of multiplayer, we have some nearly good news. No, it’s still not going to be included in Prototype, but Radical Entertainment’s Chris Ansell recently told Eurogamer that it could show up in Prototype 2. The catch, of course, is that there has to be a Prototype 2. So, if you really want to see how good Prototype multiplayer can be, you’d best hope it sells enough copies to merit a sequel.

Alright, children, nothing to see here. Move along. As you might have heard, there will be no new Xbox Live Arcade release this day. Nope. Nothing at all. We’re not sure exactly what we’re expected to do with our time, honestly. It’s not like there’s some other thing we could be doing. You know, the kind of thing that sucks up hours upon hours of free time. The kind of thing that people skip work or school for. It’s not like we have any games like that to play. No. Nothing like that.
Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have to go steal a automobile. And then we’ve to play some more Grand Theft Auto.
*No, we’re not really going to steal a automobile, and neither should you. It’s the law!

Alien Hominid HD players will no doubt remember the trophies developer The Behemoth awarded to players for completing various alien tasks, etc. And good news fanboys, they’ll be doing the whole trophy thing with Castle Crashers too, but this time in bronze! That means that when Castle Crashers makes its way to the XBLA later this year (it is this year, right?) we’ll be trying our darnedest to earn a coveted trophy … no matter the task. Let’s just hope The Behemoth’s crew learns how to cast bronze statues by release day. Because, per the photographic evidence above, their attempts thus far haven’t been successful.

Adding a pinch more credibility to the rumor that Crysis is headed to the Xbox 360, Crytek just revealed that they don’t plan on developing anymore Computer exclusive titles going forward.
Chatting with PC Play, president of Crytek Cevat Yerli talked about their non-PC exclusive plans going forward saying that currently they’re dealing with “huge piracy that is encompassing Crysis“. This PC piracy problem is the biggest reason for their change of heart as Yerli admits that “it [piracy] was a large lesson for us and I believe we won’t have Personal computer exclusives as we did with Crysis in future.”
Future non-PC exclusive games from Crytek is nothing but great news for 360 owners. But does that confirm Crysis on the 360? No sir. Though, it does open the window of possibility a tiny further allowing a draft of hope to waft in.
