Two weeks have gone by since Harmonix rocked our world with the first full album of Rock Band DLC, and it appears that they’ve exhausted their lineup of “triple-A” songs that everyone has been requesting. So instead of more Judas Priest, some Muse, or, I don’t know, anything else, we’re stuck with two songs I’ve never heard of, and one lackluster song by one of my favorite bands.

Next week, Harmonix will be bringing you “Date With The Night” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and “It Hurts” by Angels & Airwaves, two songs that I’m not familiar with. And to be quite honest, after listening to 30-second snippets of them on iTunes, I’m glad that I’m not familiar with those songs.

The third track is Fall Out Boy’s “This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race”, the hit debut single for their third full-length album, 2007’s Infinity On High. Now, I’m a massive Fall Out Boy fan (yeah, yeah…sue me) — I have been since Take This To Your Grave way back in 2003 — but really, I could think of about ten songs of theirs off the top of my head that I’d rather play in Rock Band. Oh, well…at least they’re all master tracks.

Anyway, the songs will be available, as usual, on Xbox Live next Tuesday (May 6th) and on the PlayStation Network next Thursday (May 8th). The standard pricing is in effect; each song will cost you $1.99 (160 MS Points), or you can pick up the three-song pack for $5.49 (440 MS Points). Hit the jump for the press release. And if, for some crazy reason, you’re actually interested in the Fall Out Boy figurines pictured above, you can order them on the web for the low, low price of

Activision continue their slow drip of Guitar Hero III downloadable content, this time announcing a three song pack from the British rock band, Muse.

The pack will the songs “Exo-Politics” and “Supermassive Black Hole” from their latest album, Black Holes and Revelations, along with “Stockholm Syndrome” from their 2003 record, Absolution. The content will be available on both PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Marketplace next Thursday, May 8.

While I won’t personally won’t be purchasing these tracks, I’m actually pretty keen on Muse, much to my music snob of a wife’s utter discontent. I know next to nothing about the band itself, other than what their songs sound like, but I do know this fact: the band’s frontman Matthew Bellamy owns a God damned jetpack. So as you buy this song pack, do think for a moment what the royalties for these songs might be going towards — fuel.

While the rest of us wait for the May 16 demo of Sierra’s Bourne Conspiracy action title to hit Xbox Live, UK gamers can snag the demo this day at their local GAME store. While picking up his copy of Grand Theft Auto IV one of our loyal X3F soldiers was given the demo for the anticipated game based on the best-selling novels by Robert Ludlum. We’ve been vocal on our interest in the game so color us green with envy from the early demo, at least until it finally lands on the Marketplace later this month.

Monolith has dropped not one, not two, not three, but four new Project Origin trailers for gamers everywhere to ogle. The first, embedded above, deals with the Replica Elite Powered Armor. It is, quite simply, a mech capable of laying waste to all in its path. The video make sure to drive this point home, destroying buildings and vaporizing soldiers that stand in its way (or even in the general vicinity of its way). The second video (embedded after the break along with the other two) concerns the return of one of the enemies in the original F.E.A.R., the Assassin. The Assassin is an acrobatic, pseudo-invisible badass with a penchant for killing. Sound fun? Of course it does. The final two videos are fly-throughs that show off Project Origin’s spooky environments. Be the first kid on your block to watch them all.

Taking a cue from America’s army and, er, America’s Army, the Australian military is also using online games to pump up flagging recruitment numbers. As the New Zealand Herald reports, Australia’s Defence Jobs web site allows visitors to control crude, Flash versions of ARV Tiger Attack Helicopters, F/A-18 Hornets and more.

The games aren’t exactly new (JayIsGames discussed one of them back in 2004) but they’re getting increased attention now as a way for military recruitment to compete with a fierce job market. “It is critical to the future of the ADF that Generation Y and beyond can access and interact with recruiting information via the technology they are comfortable with,” stated Defence Science and Personnel Minister Warren Snowdon, who sounds extremely old.

Two of the Air Force games have recorded over 300,000 plays, according to the Herald report, which might not seem like much compare to America’s Army’s 8+ million users. Remember, though, that America’s defense budget exceeds Australia’s (and indeed, the rest of the world’s) by leaps and bounds. Whoo! We’re No. 1! Don’t mess with the U.S.! These colors don’t run! And so on …
