Filed under: News We’ve known for some time that Ninja Gaiden 2 will be releasing on June the 3rd, but some of the game’s finer details have been a bit under wraps. In an article in Famitsu (kindly translated by folks over at the Ninja Fortress boards and reposted at NeoGAF) there is some more details on the game’s changes and tweaks. There’s tons of little tidbits, but some of the biggest ones are more revealing, like the fact that some gamers have beaten the game’s beta version in 15 hours (difficulty wasn’t mentioned.) Other things of note include the fact that there are no longer armlets in the game, as Ryu more or less has those abilities inherently now, and the fact hat Ryu no longer carries around potions to heal. Healing items are now different sorts of powders (”‘This time, Ryu uses drugs to heal’ he stated while laughing.”). And if you missed the xbox.com update, the Flame Wheels are now flaming birds that’ll circle you, attacking enemies who come too close. And we swiftly learn that Dead Space development building block number one is the game’s deep storyline. According executive producer Glen Schofield, the core development strategy for Dead Space was to put focus on the story and characters, then build the actual game and gameplay mechanics around that. And it really shows. As the team speaks about the story we can’t help but be intrigued by the idea of mining entire planets for scarce resources then accidentally unleashing hell while in the process. We also enjoy the game’s eeriness. Heck, we’ll even go as far to say that the in-game shots look gorgeous. We think we’re falling in love. Watch the dev diary, learn about the dev team’s mindset and start to garner an opinion, because Dead Space will be hitting retailers this October. Boo! This is the latest trailer for MGS4 and as usual, it does what MGS trailers do best: Over-expose the game, take away big surprises … and yet strangely still make one ridiculously excited for the game. Lord knows what Kojima is cooking up with this one, but I’m down with it. Filed under: News
