After the new shots of the game that appeared lat week, Vigilante 8 Arcade was looking quite completed. In a dev update on their website, it was revealed that the game is in pre-certification and that the devs are anticipating an early June release date, but that the final date will be up to Microsoft. Also, while there were no details at all given, it was confirmed that V8 Arcade will have some form of DLC in it’s future. Given the type of game that this is it’s almost a guarantee that the Marketplace will play host to new characters and vehicles, allowing for even more vehicular insanity.

Stop the presses! We’re like, so completely stoked right now. Cut to the 14:28 mark of the latest Penny Arcade podcast, “Making an Impression.” So speak’th the cartoon-inclined hosts:

“Hey, Disincentives won best webcomic for that week.”

“Yeah, we did … it’s always nice to win.”

“I feel like champion (my fri-end).”

Oh yeah, baby, that’s right, we’re famous enough to be on the second-greatest podcast around! So while we clutch the (CW)TB signature we’ve written on the back of a business card from when we ran into Tycho at GDC 2007 (note: thanks for putting up with our “trade show noob” geek-out 14 months ago, T-Bo), check out our picks for the week’s ideal game-related webcomics; voting is after the break.

Capcom recently announced that Xbox Live Arcade game Rocketmen: Axis of Evil will be getting an expansion on Wednesday, Might 14th, even though nobody really asked for it.

The Rocketmen “It Came From Uranus” expansion pack (whose name coincidentally makes twelve year olds roll on the floor with uncontrollable laughter) will add three new weapons (Blobber, Beamer and Bomber), two new secondary weapons (Falcon and Screw Bomb) and three new levels. The worst part is that this expansion will cost you 400 Microsoft points on top of the 800 points which are required to spend on Axis of Evil. An amount that we doubt most XBLA fanboys would be willing to spend.
