Speaking with digital gaming magazine D+Pad, MotorStorm 2’s game director Nigel Kershaw has revealed that the upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive will feature 16 tracks, and will feature full integration with Sony’s yet-to-be-launched Home.
“Home is a really exciting area for all PlayStation 3 developers,” Kershaw told D+Pad, “it’s going to have a massive impact upon the gaming public when it comes out. I think it’s going to really start binding the PS3 on the web community together. I’m really looking forward to watching it progress, and MotorStorm will be a strong presence from the off.”
As far as the game’s 16 tracks — which may seem like a paltry sum, but is actually twice as many as the original — Kershaw is promising that each will be distinct and fully interactive.
“The environments are much more interactive in the new game,” he said. “This is especially true of the new track elements – the water, vegetation, lava and so on. And again, their effects differ from one car class to the next.”
You can read more about MotorStorm 2’s all-new engine, new Monster Truck class-type, and see more screenshots in the latest issue of D+Pad, which can be downloaded for free from their Web site.

The Sony PR machine just got its oil changed, is fully lubed and ready to fight. We know this because at their current Playstation Day press event (which, we have to admit, did bring some amount of good) we learn that Playstation 3 sales in Europe have surpassed Xbox 360 sales in the region … or so says Sony. Seeing that Sony is a tad bit bias with their calculations (and we don’t even get a pretty bar chart or anything), we can’t be sure how much validity there’s to their European PS3 number touting. But one thing we can be sure of is that Europe is a cut-throat console market where Microsoft and Sony are currently fighting to the death. Now let’s wait and see if MS’s PR machine is equally primed for battle …

Coming from Sony’s current Playstation media event (at least something good comes from those, hoozah!) is a brand new, all in-game footage, delicious ball of awesomeness trailer for Mirror’s Edge. And did we already state it’s a delicious ball of awesomeness? Because it is. Witness DICE’s upcoming and “true” first person experience as main character Faith jumps from building to building, leaps through the air, slides, glides and kicks the crap out of gun wielding baddies with … her legs. We’re excited and truly believe that Mirror’s Edge has that special something. Enjoy!

The
latest Bungie weekly update may not be packed to the brim with exciting things like upcoming playlists or speak of yet more new maps, but there are definitely some tasty morsels for
Halo fans out there. First and foremost is a collection of some of the funniest
Halo 3 screenshots out there. We’re particularly enamored of the one above. We have dubbed it “Cojones” for reasons that we don’t care to elucidate. Secondly, the update enumerates a few of the more interesting statistics about
Halo 3. Our favorite is the number of people who have completed the Legendary campaign with
each skull turned on. How many people have done this? Two. We can’t figure out if those two people are insanely good or insanely patient. Either way, they’re insane. Finally, the update points gamers to Ascendant Justice, a blog that has posted a
three part series exploring the story revealed in
Halo 3’s terminals. Fans of the series should
definitely read it. Hit the “read” link to explore the entire update.

We’ve officially lost count of how many times Microsoft has denied rumors of an upcoming Xbox 360 equipped with Blu-ray … we only have so many fingers and toes.
And so comes another denial hot on the heels of the recent Blu-ray rumor, where Microsoft told GamePro that they “have no plans to introduce a Blu-ray drive for Xbox 360″. There you’ve it, stated as black and white as humanly possible. But don’t worry fanboys, we’ll still report on every Blu-ray / Xbox 360 rumor we come across, not only because we feel obligated to keep you informed, but because we also enjoy annoying the pants off Microsoft. Yes, we’re evil …
