In response to the leaked Banjo-Kazooie 3 screenshots that showcase an abundance of car information, Rare confirmed with the peeps over at Eurogamer that the new Banjo is “not a racing game”. So, thankfully, we have the ability to put those rumors to rest. Rare also added that “the honest truth is that people don’t know the half of it yet” saying that “the game isn’t just a graphical showcase” and that they still haven’t “revealed the gameplay mechanic yet.” Interesting stuff … Maybe that means we’ll hear about the 360’s rumored Wiimote controller tomorrow when we get our Banjo news. Speculation FTW!

In an interview with our crew over at Joystiq, TellTale’s marketing spokesperson Emily Morganti told them that the currently PC and Wii exclusive Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People (SBCGFAP) and its episodic content could release to the XBLA “maybe down the line.” Morganti went on to say that they’d “like to be on all of these [XBLA and PSN] at some point” and that “they’re all great platforms for episodic content”, but that “WiiWare just happens to be the one we’re venturing onto first.” So, she’s saying there’s a chance. And now we leave you with the too cool for words SBCGFAP trailer, because it’s just too cool for words. Enjoy.

Back in March, we learned that the train based board game Ticket to Ride was chugging its way to the XBLA thanks to an entry on German’s video game ratings board website. Now, thanks to the Gamerscore Blog, we get a few more details, albeit very little. Details including confirmation that Ticket to Ride will be releasing to the XBLA sometime this Summer, will grant for five player versus over Xbox Live, four player versus locally and will have Vision camera support. We’re also told that Ticket to Ride provides “hours of family-friendly fun”, but we think that’s too subjective of a feature to mention.

The mystery of the “Lips” game (news that was leaked days early thanks to Microsoft’s press site) is seeing another twist, with word that “Lips” really isn’t a game. Instead, “Lips” is rumored to be the codename for a new Xbox 360 accessory.

8Bit Joystick is reporting that months ago they got a hold of insider documents from the Xbox 360 engineering team and encountered mention of a new 360 voice accessory code named “Lips”. No more information was detailed in the supposed insider documents, but 8Bit Joystick speculates that these “Lips” will either be a new way to communicate or will add voice recognition to games. We aren’t sure if that makes much sense seeing that we have a perfectly functioning headset that does voice recognition, but we’ll go with it seeing that “Lips” speculation is more fun when thinking about new accessories. So … is tomorrow’s news here yet?

With the giant, lumbering shadow of Grand Theft Auto IV slowly receding, publishers are responding in kind, slowly releasing new titles. Testing the water, if you’ll. It seems appropriate, then, that this week’s biggest Xbox 360 release is Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm, a game about (deadly) fishing. There is also one other title to look out for, that being Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. We’re trying really hard to drum up some enthusiasm for that one. Actually, who are we kidding? We’re not trying at all.

Because one just isn’t enough, this month Microsoft has crowned four bands, yes four different bands May’s Artist(s) of the Month. Freakin’ epic! As part of their honor, each band has a little blurb over on Xbox.com and video content goodness on the (U.S. only) Xbox Live Marketplace. Anyway, we should just tell you who the four Artist(s) of the Month are shouldn’t we? We’re such teases. Ahem, we proudly present to you May’s artists which include Voltio, Tyga, Death Cab for Cutie and Dierks Bentley. And, sadly, we only have ever heard of Dierks Bentley.

Two weeks later and it seems Grand Theft Auto IV has yet to lose its luster.

What They Play has become a well known source of information for parents that strive to involve themselves in their children’s favorite hobby. While the site has been an important voice against gaming detractors for some time, its cause has become even more relevant since the release of Rockstar’s epic journey and subsequent tar & feathering.

In a continuing series of written facts and video examples, What They Play has compiled everything parents will need to analyze before they grant their kids near GTA IV. Videos outlining the extent of gunplay, language and sexual content found in the game are a handful of examples that can be found on the parent focused website.

While the feature and site has proven to be an important source of information, we hope the future of What They Play includes expanding into other languages to keep the parental knowledge base on an even “playing field” across the globe.

Is should come as no surprise that this Wednesday, Might 14th, Sierra’s Assault Heroes 2 will make its release to the Xbox Live Arcade to the joy of arcade gamers worldwide. This 800 Microsoft point sequel builds upon the original Assault Heroes formula by making battles more intense, adding new weaponry, making vehicles hijackable and, of course, co-op gaming. Get excited, because lots of “boom!”, “kablaam!” and “sizzle!” is headed to the XBLA this week.
