As Hamza just noted, Haze hits this week, and the developers have been busy answering questions on the Ubi forum. To our surprise, the Might 16 update reveals two hideous technical facts about the game: a rather large required install and no true 720p.

Time to delete your porn, kids! When developers were asked if we’d see a forced install (see previous Capcom debacle) they simply responded no, just a “minimal 4GB install”. We’d like to offer that 1/10th of some people’s hard drives barely qualifies as minimal and are hoping that we won’t have to sit through a 20-minute install

Speaking to GameTrailers, Silent Hill: Homecoming producer and composer Akira Yamaoka has revealed that funny endings will be returning in upcoming Double Helix (formerly The Collective) take on the series. When asked about what elements from previous games would be returning in Homecoming, Yamaoka stated (through a translator), “I think humor is important. A lot of Silent Hill fans enjoy different endings, like the UFO ending, the dog ending, right? Those funny endings are an important part of Silent Hill.”

We’d be hard-pressed to disagree, as the humorous endings (spoilers … sort of) serve as a much needed counterbalance to the disturbing, soul-shattering imagery that the series is known for. Oh, and Yamaoka’s favorite entry in the series? Silent Hill 2 (ahem … duh). Check out the full interview after the break.

Reigniting the fire under old franchises like Sonic and Golden Axe it appears Sega is trying to rekindle our nostalgic flame. Based on what we’ve seen from the upcoming Xbox 360 lineup from Sega we’re interested, on paper. A new Hulk game sounds great but motion picture licenses nearly have a vendetta against anything resembling decent. Sonic back to his roots sounds awesome, but realizing the game includes 3D sections instead of the 2D we’ve been seeing get us worried. Golden Axe returns? Wicked! But no co-op and the loss of two original classes has us asking why. What are your thoughts on the upcoming lineup from Sega?

Being added to Madden NFL 09’s ever growing list of new additions comes the announcement of an “interesting” feature which is being called “EA Sports Rewind“. How it’s explained, this new feature will allow players to go back in time, take a down back and re-do what just occurred if one wasn’t happy with the previous outcome. In it’s simplest form, it’s a do-over. The rewind ability can also be used defensively against your opponent, thus negating any progress or scoring they did the play before. Also, just in case you were wondering, before the game starts players will be able to specify the number of rewinds each team gets per game.

It’s an interesting feature add, but we can’t help but wonder how much it’ll actually be used between multiplayer foes or how annoying it’ll end up being.

Another week beyond the Grand Theft Auto IV launch, another super trim lineup of new games. By super slim, we mean precisely one game. The game in question is UEFA Euro 2008 from Electronic Arts. After a quick wiki, we have discovered that UEFA stands for Union of European Football Associations, so … it’s a soccer game then. But what’s this? According to Metacritic, it’s actually a pretty good soccer game. For all the true football fans out there, this week is for you. The rest of you can wait for June 3.

Tomorrow marks the release of Funcom’s Age of Conan for Computer, an MMO with enough pre-release hype to actually create a blip on the map so long dominated by World of Warcraft. In case you need a introduction to the M-rated on the web adventure, we’ve compiled a list of impressions and guides that you can peruse after the break. (Big thanks to Massively and BigDownload.)

If you’re like me, you don’t reserve a game unless you completely have to play it on launch day or are confident that it’ll be too much of an adventure to find a copy because of the game’s huge hype and popularity.

Each so often stores will give out pre-order goodies as an incentive to get you to hand over your hard-earned money weeks or even months before the game you’re interested in gets released — it’s schemes like this that get me every damn time.

No Mutants Granted informs us that Fallout 3 will be getting the “free, but not really free, swag” treatment. Destructoid has confirmed with GameStop that if you pre-order the game, you’ll receive a 5-song CD along with a poster (pictured above).

Are any of you contemplating reserving Fallout 3 now? The collector’s edition is sounding pretty sweet to me.

The wake of high quality HD consoles has been tough on the Computer video game industry. Not only are they up against a lower cost of entry and their booming game libraries, they’re up against products that are excellent in conveying what kind of experience gamers are buying into. The Computer industry? Not so much: “How fast is a GeForce this or a Radeon that?

There’s a new Project Origin combat trailer making the rounds this day, giving old-school F.E.A.R. fanboys a warm fuzzy knowing that the sequel is staying true to its roots. The trailer (embedded above) is comprised of “pre-beta footage” that is gushy, gory, glum and any other “g” adjectives you can think of (except glamorous). It looks graphically nice, the fear factor is there and it seems … well, fun. We state, go Lith go!

[Thanks, Chris]
