[Editor’s note: Yeah, I know “Boom” isn’t in the game…but the song’s music video was one of my favorites from back in the day, so there.]

This day, EA Sports announced the soundtrack to its upcoming stock vehicle racing game, NASCAR 09. Maybe I’m just too much of an old soul when it comes to music, but this is another videogame soundtrack that contains new and supposedly cutting-edge songs — and I don’t know a single one of them. I have a friend who constantly tells me how out-of-touch I am when it comes to modern music, so I guess he’s been consistently proven right by the people who pick the soundtracks for sports games.

I mean, I haven’t listened to AFI and P.O.D. since I was in high school, and I never got into From First To Last. As for the other artists and songs on the soundtrack, well, I haven’t even heard of them. Check out the full list of songs after the jump, and hit the comments to let me know of your music snobbery. Or, you can just concur with me that there should’ve been some more songs like “Simple Man” and “Whipping Post” in this game. I’m not even trying to be stereotypical — I legitimately like those songs!
