Here we have a tiny preview of Guitar Hero World Tour’s new drums. Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, The Police drummer Stewart Copeland and former drummer of Blink-182, Travis Barker, all give the new drums a test drive. We don’t actually see the drums being used with the game, just the rock stars beating on the drums and telling us their impressions of it.

Not much is really detailed that we don’t already know. The drums are pressure-sensitive and wireless, and the cymbal pads look like they can be easily broken.

I don’t get it. Well, I kind of get it. These ads are trying to be some kind of weird, artistic, over-the-top visions to get people’s attention. Kind of like those retarded PlayStation 3 ads with demon babies and other weird sh*t inside that white room. We at least knew those ads were for the PlayStation 3 by the end of the commercial.

In the case of these five new international ads for Metal Gear Solid 4, you’d have no idea they were for the game unless someone told you. In fact, you wouldn’t know what the hell these ads were for had I not just told you. For all we could have known, this first ad might have been for a new live-action tentacle rape porno. Which wouldn’t have been a bad thing. That makes much more sense actually.

I leave superior artistic pieces in the toilet. Four more “WTF” ads after the jump.

When Bizarre Creations’ third-person shooter The Club released its list of accomplishments, gamers laughed at the team’s one-up of the Gears of War on the web kill count–months later it appears DICE wants in on the joke too. Peaking at the achievement list available at MyGamerCard, Battlefield: Bad Company includes one achievement, “Beans Bullets Bandages,” that awards players 30 GS points for achieving 10,002 kills online.

While it was humorous the first time now we’re just worried the achievement will become a trend.

The rest of the list includes your standard mission completition, difficulty setting points with half of the accomplishments dedicated to the Battlefield: Bad Company’s on the web modes. One thing to note, for a title that was hailed as primarily a single-player focused experience, we wonder why almost half of the accomplishments are multiplayer only. Battlefield: Bad Company is set to release on June 23.

There’s nothing more satisfying that sitting down after Thanksgiving turkey and playing video games until you pass out. This year, that game might be Left 4 Dead. In a current interview with Shacknews, Valve’s marketing director, Doug Lombardi mentioned that Valve was looking to do a simultaneous worldwide release for Left 4 Dead some time in November, several months after the initial summer release date. This isn’t particularly surprising, given Valve’s history of long delays (hey there, Half-Life).

While some delays are signs of a game sinking in development quicksand, Left 4 Dead is nearly complete, says Lombardi:

So the game is pretty much playable all the way through right now. And as we’ve done with most of our games, we get to a point where, it’s playable all the way through, there are some [minor] issues that we need to work on, and we try to add more time to the schedule to have as many people as possible play the game, to make sure that it’s approachable to players of all skills.

Well, that’s good to hear, especially since the entire hook of the game is that the AI director manipulates the difficulty during each playthrough. In an interview with GameTrailers at the EA Spring Break 08 event last week, Lombardi hinted at the possibility of a later release date, saying, “A game is only late until it’s shipped and a game that’s bad is bad forever,” subscribing to the oft-quoted Miyamoto school of development.

Valve’s upcoming zombie survival game Left 4 Dead is moving further and further along in its development cycle and for a while now we’ve been given a way too vague “Fall 2008″ release time frame. Now, thanks to an interview with Shacknews, Valve’s own Doug Lombardi has narrowed Left 4 Dead’s release date to a much more acceptable November 2008 release. Which, coincidentally, will be just in time for all the turkey day festivities. Because everyone knows zombie killing and a heaping mound of stuffing go together quite well.

Wow, it was actually all true! Thanks to loyal X3F reader Rhemelious, we were given the opportunity to view each and each page of the exclusive Gears of War 2 article that appears in next month’s issue of UK magazine X360. The same issue that was rumored to reveal all kinds of new and exciting GoW2 multiplayer details. Well, after giving it a thorough read (sorry, it’s kind of illegal to post magazine scans), we can 100% confirm its contents and say that the rumors are indeed true. The new weapons, gametypes, game modes, features and options are all true! So, being the obsessive Gears fans we are, after the break we posted our own recap of what we found inside the pages of X360. Yes, the list is long, but we organized the new GoW2 information the best we could. Believe us, you’ll want to jump towards the break, because there’s a mountain of juicy delicious Gears 2 details. We’re so happy …

[Thanks, Rhemelious]

Update: We just got our hands on the X360 Gears of War 2 article and have confirmed its contents. Read about what we found inside here.

After getting our new Gears of War 2 announcement hopes up over the leaked EGM article only to have Cliff Bleszinski deny it all, we get word that next month’s issue of UK magazine X360 will feature exclusive new GoW2 details as well. And, if the leaky news source can be trusted, we’re in for one hell of a bloody good ride come November.

With no actual magazine scans to view or any way for us to confirm the news, the contents of X360 magazine’s GoW2 article were recently posted over on GameTrailers’ forums for all to examine, pick apart and question. If the list can be trusted, we’re in for a whole mess of exciting new Gears additions including a new flamethrower called the “Scorcher”, a new “Wingman” gametype that pits five teams of two against eachother and the announcement of a new mobile bullet shield to take cover behind. You can check out the complete (and totally unconfirmed) contents of X360 magazine’s Gears of War 2 article after the break. And we must admit, there isn’t a darn feature we can complain about.

Also, remember children that we’re still treading in rumor territory until this X360 info can be confirmed. So, we advise keeping your excitement level to a minimum, because we wouldn’t want to see your fanboy heart crushed if the news turns out to be made up crud.
