A choose group of 10,000 PS3 users had the chance to give Sony’s new PlayStation Media and Events Space a test run. They were able to use their console to experience a recent PlayStation Day from the comfort of their home, via the magic of the internets.

This test run gave virtual attendees VIP access to the Space, which was decorated with items from the real PlayStation Day, originally held on May 6th in London. This included the branding and artwork from each of the day’s PlayStation zones, according to Gamesdog.

They were able to walk through the space, look at pictures of games, view video of speeches on a “jumbo screen,” and stream video of the whole event.

PS3 fans, rejoice! You are now officially allowed to like BioShock, because it’s coming to the Black Box o’ Blu-ray! As you’re all likely aware by now, BioShock for PS3 is confirmed, and there are a few scant details.

Firstly, the game will ship with all the extra plasmids from the 360 version, as well as any tiny repairs that may have been made since the game’s launch via updates. Pretty standard stuff for a port, really. Thus far, Sixaxis support has not been confirmed.

What has been said is that the PlayStation 3 version is pretty much only going to be useful for those who never played the PC/360 versions. Sony is apparently planning to “extend and augment” the game, but the word for now is that the 360 and PS3 games will be pretty much identical.

That is, of course, the word for now. The word has a habit of changing. We shall let you know as soon as more details arise.

As the embargo for Ubidays ends and news about the new Prince of Persia game begins to flood the tubes, the more promise the game seems to have. Ubisoft Montreal is looking to refresh the franchise by taking elements from everything from Ico to Assassin’s Creed. The main change is the female character, Elika, who will be your AI companion through the game, similar to Yorda from Ico.

Unlike Yorda however, Ubisoft Montreal is looking to make Elika only helpful and never detrimental. As seen in the trailer Elika is now the source of many of your time powers, and she’ll be intergal to the new combat system. The new system focuses entirely on single combat and you’ll never find yourself in any fight that isn’t a duel. Ubisoft is making some large changes with this one, lets hope it’s a success!

Just as they’ve done for the past month or so, The Behemoth just took the (100% Egyptian cotton) shroud of mystery off of two more of Castle Crashers‘ Animal Orbs and this time the adorable-meter is off the charts. Meet Bitey Bat and Giraffey. They’re Animal Orbs. During battle, Bitey Bat promises to gnaw on your foes’ heads and Giraffey will use his magically limp tongue to aid in leveling up your character quicker. You’ll probably encounter each floating orb of helpfulness alongside Seahorse, Scratchpaw and a bunch of other zoo’licious Animal Orbs when Castle Crashers releases later this year . Admit it, they’re freakin’ cute!

On Sunday, we posted information regarding a new Gears of War re-release that Gamestop had a pre-order listing for. A new edition that’s not only cheaper, but is said to include all previously released DLC on the disc. Though, its specific contents were unknown.

But now, a few days later, Gamestop updated the page, adding the official Gears of War re-release box art (it looks almost identical) and posted a listing of all the the additional content that’ll be included on a separate “Bonus Disc”. Come June 24th, Microsoft will release a newer edition of Gears of War for $39.99 which will feature all the previously release DLC maps including Hidden Fronts, additional gamer pictures, themes, videos and GoW2 trailers as well. Check the break for a complete breakdown of what will be included in this latest release. Also, if it wasn’t already obvious, if you haven’t experienced GoW yet, then we feel this to be the opportune time to get all the Gears goodness you can handle in one (cheaper) box.

Coming straight out of Ubidays 2008 is a brand new Far Cry 2 trailer, complete with a reporter voice over, a look at the lovely African countryside and some explosive in-game footage. And after giving it a quick watch we’ve come to the conclusion that Far Cry 2 looks good, sounds good and just may actually be … good. We aren’t sure if it’s the African wildebeests, the stunning sunset or the game itself, but Ubi’s Far Cry 2 is coming along quite nicely. Go ahead, watch for yourself.
