Apologies for the lack of a Friday Night Fights post last week; I was traveling to the Destructoid Cincinnati NARP and had no way of getting the new post up, unfortunately. I was, however, thinking about all of you while I was gone (please don’t stone me!).
But now it’s time to cease living in the past, and instead focus on the present. There’s a slight shift in game choice for tonight’s FNF, as double experience points will be given out on all playlists for both console versions of Call of Duty 4.
There will still be plenty of GTA IV, TF2, and Halo 3, but come on! Double XP! How can you resist?

Just a quick reminder to all the double experience point supporters of the world, Bungie recently flipped the switch on a new Halo 3 Rocket FFA playlist as part of yet another double EXP weekend. This limited availability matchmaking playlist will only be available until Monday, June 9th, requires the Legendary Map Pack to play and (of course) will award you double EXP with every rocket win. Though, your multiplayer Halo 3 achievement progress will have to wait, because this FFA playlist is NOT ranked meaning you can’t earn any accomplishment goodness. And that overkill would have been so simple … humph.
So, what’s it going to be? Double EXP in Halo 3 this weekend or double XP in Call of Duty 4? Decisions, decisions, decisions …

True, buddies over on the Playstation Network already have it, but next week it’ll be coming to the better on the internet platform (that’s fanboy humor, get it?)
Capcom just announced that Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 will be releasing to the Xbox Live Arcade next Wednesday, June 11th for 800 Microsoft points. And with three player on the web or local co-op, fresh 3D visuals and enough “kaboom!” to throw a hand grenade stuffed puppy at, it might be worth your points. Remember too that those who buy Commando 3 will also be allowed access into the (deep breath) Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix beta which will launch in the days following. A beta that’s exclusive to the XBLA. Like we said, the XBLA is the superior on the web platform … mwahahahaha!

Last month, McDonalds sponsored a list of eight Rock Band DLC tracks where, each week, they made three musical tracks available for half price. Thanks for that McDonalds, your Massive Macs are delicious! But that month long promotion ran only during Might and has since ended … or so we thought.
We have just been informed and confirmed that all eight McDonalds sponsored Rock Band DLC tracks are currently available on the XBLM for 80 Microsoft points! We aren’t sure when the pricing will get jacked back up to 160, so be sure to grab musical DLC like “Crushcrushcrush”, “Rock ‘n Roll Band” and “Sugar Magnolia” as soon as you can. Hit the break to view the list of discounted Rock Band DLC that’s available right now and, if you’re looking for more 80 MS point music, don’t forget about the recently released Interrupted tracks. They’re good times too.

Chris from the Gamerscore Blog just sent us an update (and the fancy schmancy video embedded above) regarding Too Human and a new pre-order program they’re running in North America. How it’s planned, when you pre-order Too Human at any participating retailer, you’ll receive five sets of exclusive in-game armor (one for each character class) that not only maximizes each class’ abilities and sport two slots for customization, but they also look completely badass. Especially the Bioengineer … total badassery. So, if you’re cool with two player co-op instead of four and support Mr. Dyack, then go get your pre-order on before August 19th to score some new armor duds. Also, feel free to look over the five sets of pre-order armor goodness in the gallery below.

European Army of Two owners who were turned bitter last week to learn that they weren’t getting the free Veterans Pack DLC right away will be happy to know that the content is now downloadable in all European XBLM territories. The 100% free Veterans Pack features new co-op missions, new co-op fun and even an alternate ending to the game. So, go ahead and give it a download fellow European fanboys, it’s free and it’s sponsored by the kind folks over at Pontiac. Vroom!

Yay! More cross-property marketing maneuvers! Truthfully, we could stand Yoda and Vader in Soul Calibur IV. They are well known, iconic figures of their brand, and something could be said of their inclusion for the purpose of bringing fanboys from one thing to the other. Not this time. This time it’s an entirely self-serving move that has roots in promoting the relatively unknown (to the the mainstream) The Force Unleashed.
The newest announcement is that the main character from TFU, Vader’s “Secret Apprentice”, will be a playable character in both the 360 & PS3 versions of Soul Calibur IV. Y’know, we just might’ve actually purchased the inevitable DLC that will be made available for this game, but this move just really leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Just so long as The Force Unleashed doesn’t end up using Ivy to showcase its physics systems we’ll remain sane. Given the way things are going, we fear for our sanity.

Over the last few days, we asked you to pick the best and worst of the Xbox Live Arcade titles that are potentially up for delisting. We’ve now tallied the votes and the results are in:
Best:
- Texas Hold ‘Em (12.77%)
- Marathon: Durandal (12.48%)
- Contra (9.18%)
Worst:
- Shrek N Roll (12.00%)
- Yie Ar Kung-Fu (8.37%)
- Screwjumper! (6.48%)
You can view our picks for best and worst here. We want to make a special note regarding the Yaris game, which wasn’t included because it would pass the delist hurdle of over 6% conversion rate (hint: it had no demo and was free; the devil is in the details). We don’t know if Microsoft will be that stringent regarding its guidelines, but there’s poetic justice in noting that the developer, comprised of former Blizzard North staffers, suspended operations in April.
