Gamecock just slapped us with some fresh new screens from their upcoming stealth-action game, Velvet Assassin. This game looks just superior and better every time I see something new. This has been on my radar ever since last year at EIEIO and I just can’t wait to get my hands on Velvet.

We also received images of all the weapons that will be featured in the game. Check them out in the gallery below and hit the jump to get a briefing on all of the weapons seen below. For more information on Velvet Assassin, check out my preview from EIEIO 2007 and Nick’s preview from EIEIO 2008.

The latest installment in the “meet the insert TF2 character here” series of videos is proof that Valve hasn’t even come close to losing its touch.

I don’t want to spoil the whole video for you guys, however, I’ll say that the Sniper’s accent was pretty unexpected, but in a good way. Also, pee jars.

In case you missed the previous character videos, here they are: Heavy Weapons guy, the Scout, the Soldier, the Engineer, and the Demoman. Just a few more to go!

We’re trying really hard to cease harping on Too Human for its lack of four player co-op. Silicon Knights, it seems, is doing its best to make it as hard as possible for us to do that. You see, in this video, studio head Dennis Dyack talks about the various classes in Too Human and how they can complement one another. For example, the Bio-Engineer class has a healing buff that constantly heals himself and other party members. Oh wait, celebration member. See, that’s where that stinging pain sets in. It’s when Dyack uses words like “group” and “combinations” that the two player co-op reality crashes down.

Of course, it’s still valid, and certain classes will complement others, but we can’t help but think of how dynamic it might have been.

He fought the law and the law is winning. Jack Thompson, hot off the heels of a Florida Bar suggestion that he be disbarred for ten years for 27 violations of professional misconduct, is again testing if the pen is mightier than the sword. In a letter written to Chief Judge Federico Moreno, Thompson claimed his current trial was a mockery of the system and demanded a fair trial.

“We find yesterday that enemy combatants at Guantanamo are to get more due process from federal judges than what I am to have. I guess my “mistake” wasn’t killing 3000 people to make my point … I demand a hearing,” Thompson wrote in the letter to Moreno.

Judge Moreno responded to the shocking letter by dispatching two U.S. Marshals to the home of Mr. Thompson. “The purpose of that visit was to intimidate and harass me,” Thomson wrote to Moreno following the incident.

As the Florida Bar continues to seek disbarment for the controversial lawyer, Thompson is now seeking a meeting with the House Judiciary Committee in Washington to complain that the Justice Department is harassing him.

Jack Thompson is famously known in the gaming community for his stance against violent videogames, particularly titles from Take Two Interactive; publisher of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto franchise.

Face it, everything is better with ninjas. It’s like in that movie The Last Samurai when all the ninjas attacked. It was like, “Whoa, ninjas! This movie just got even awesomer!” Imagine that feeling, only applied to Castle Crashers. See, it feels awesome, righ?. The game was already cool and now it has a ninja and is even cooler (and by cool we mean absolutely sweet). If you thought it couldn’t get any better than that, then get this: the ninja carries … a mug. Not just any mug … a Ninja Mug. We’re not quite sure how it works, but according to the Castle Crashers website, its purpose is “defensive shielding.”

It’s official now: the wait for Castle Crashers is killing us. Follow the source link for shots of ninja doing his thing.

And another company responds to the large Intellisponse information leak. This time its Sega commenting on the video of a game called Crucible: The Evil Within, allegedly a title under development by Silicon Knights with Sega as publisher. According to Sega representative Steve Groll, who was speaking with MTV’s Multiplayer, the video leaked earlier this week is not a video of the game Silicon Knights is developing for Sega. “That video isn’t the game that Silicon Knights is creating for us. I have no idea if it is a game they are working on for someone else, but it’s definitely not the project that Silicon Knights and SEGA are producing,” stated Groll, adding that the name of the Sega project is not The Crucible either.

Joystiq notes that Sega did file a software trademark for “The Crucible: Evil Within” in April of 2007. It was allegedly an action horror game, which certainly fits Silicon Knights’ modus operandi. Looks like we’ll have to wait and see what becomes of The Crucible.

Continuing the Madden fantasy football tradition, EA Sports recently announced that fantasy.easports.com will again be fully functioning this year, with new website enhancements, a Live Draft Tracker, a new Live Score Tracker and added Xbox 360 functionality where you’ll be able to import your fantasy sports team into Madden NFL 09. Details are light, but EA promises that you’ll be able to take your fantasy team into any of Madden 09’s gametypes including on the internet versus, play now and franchise modes. Quite nifty. So, we’ve to ask, are you getting more impressed with this year’s Madden offerings?

During the past few months of Bungie Weekly Updates, team Bungie has openly talked about two of their new and yet to be released Halo 3 multiplayer maps, giving them the code names “Purple Reign” and “Moonbase Alpha”. And ever since the Chill Out remake Cold Storage was announced this weekend, we’ve been wondering which of the two code named maps Cold Storage was. Well, now we know the truth. Cold Storage wasn’t code named either “Purple Reign” or “Moonbase Alpha”, it was never previously discussed by team Bungie and was actually code named “Smuggler”. This code name name confirmation comes straight from Bungie’s own Lukems who pretty much confirmed that team Bungie is working on at least three new Halo 3 maps (Cold Storage, “Purple Reign” and “Moonbase Alpha”) while we were under the impression that only two were in development. Those sneaky foxes!

If we had to guess, we’d state that we’ll be seeing a Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack (catchy name, no?) release sometime this Fall, featuring three new maps and costing an oh so traditional 800 Microsoft points. Write that down kids, we won’t be wrong …
