As I’ve stated before, I’ve no interest in watching people beat each other to a bloody pulp. But there are obviously tons of people who do; that’s been evinced by the current rise of the UFC. Accordingly, we’ve seen a number of reportedly mediocre UFC video games; last January, though, THQ obtained exclusive rights to UFC games, and now we’re seeing the first fruits of that agreement.

The debut trailer for THQ’s first UFC game, UFC 2009 Undisputed, can be viewed above — feel free to cringe and grimace along with Forrest Griffin and Quentin “Rampage” Jackson as they duke it out in the Octagon™. THQ has also sent over ten screenshots that can be viewed in the gallery below, and the announcement press release is after the jump. Of course, Nick linked it in his June 20th Scraps post, so you’ve all seen it already…right?

Just nod politely for your own sake, lest you suffer Mr. Chester’s wrath. UFC 2009 Undisputed is set for release in the spring of 2009 for the PS3 and 360.

Don’t worry, I won’t purposefully jerk you around anymore when it comes to MK vs DC news.

Anyway, X360, an Xbox 360 magazine based in the UK, has a preview coming out revealing new photos and information on Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. The GAF thread where all this new info originated from tells us that Sonya Blade and The Flash will be in the game. Some aspects of the gameplay are also talked about, such as breakable costumes and some of the character’s moves.

The thread also speaks about other fighters appearing in the game, such as Green Lantern, Black Canary, Powergirl, Kabal, Jax, Raiden and more. There are supposedly 20 characters appearing in the game and the series will span two games, with DLC in the plans for new characters and the like. And of course, there are speaks about a comic series in the works based on this universal cross-over with “a large twist that no fan, DC or MK, saw coming.”

The more I hear about this game, the more I’ve come to accept it. Sure, it sucks that Fatalities are out, but the Mortal Kombat series has needed a
