Before giving us a chance to ponder what could make its way onto the replacement set list for Rock Band’s The Who DLC comes an official press release from the official website for the classic band. Included in the compilation release are three original tracks from the originally scheduled, and subsequently canceled, Who’s Next album as well as three Live recordings. While it may not include all your favorite Who tracks (Sup, Pinball Wizard?) it does have a wide assortment of awesomeness.
The Ideal of The Who Rock Band …

The last time we talked about the Square Enix PC MMO Concerto Gate, we were still waiting on information for the upcoming public beta. This morning they’ve finally sent that info along for us.
The North American closed public beta kicks off some time later this day. Gamescampus.com is publishing this sequel to the 2001 Japanese MMORPG Cross Gate, and those lucky enough to get in will get a chance to play it, from this day through July 14th.
What’s this “lucky” I speak of? Well, there’s only 5,000 beta keys. …

Back when I picked up Echochrome for the PSP in Japan, I got a tiny bonus with it: a set of four Echochrome postcards, each with their own 4-koma on them. A 4-koma is Japan’s equivalent of the comic strip, telling a joke within 4 panels (koma). Series like Lucky Star, Azumanga Daioh, and Hidamari Sketch all follow the 4-koma pattern. Just your daily dose of manga education from Japanator.com.

Previously unbeknownst to me, the guys over at the official PlayStation blog have a sense of humor. In an effort to answer some frequently asked questions about the upcoming firmware update for the PS3, Eric Lempel has put all the answers to those burning questions into blog form.
After reading it, though, I’ve to wonder how frequently some of these question were really asked. Not only does Eric humorously answer up to what his favorite cheese is (mozzarella ftw!), he also answers this gem of a question:
When you get a …

Resident Evil 5’s composer, Kota Suzuki, recently took a trip to Los Angeles to record the melodramatic portion of the upcoming horror game. Suzuki utilized the 103-piece ensemble of the Hollywood Studio Symphony to lay down his tracks. At the end of the day, only fifteen minutes of music were required to fulfill the need.
Scoring Sessions reports that the music “sounded large on the stage, with frenetic orchestral driving rhythms, and strong melodic themes.” Portions of the session had an African theme, which was pronounced by an assortment of …

Headsets seem to be the norm when it comes to extras that accompany massive PS3 online games. Bundled with every specially marked box of SOCOM: Confrontation is a very sleek Bluetooth headset.
The headset’s color is a silky flat black, with precious decal work on the side. The Sony PlayStation logo has never looked so refined. Notice the smooth curvature of the earpiece. It is style and comfort redefined. It practically screams, “Wear me!” Now observe the delicate button work, sure to satisfy any lucky consumer clicking the power button. Finally, …

While the news that the 360 as a platform is seeing more support from Japanese developers, we do wish that that support was coming to these shores. In a move that reminds us of the good old days of huge and unnecessary controllers with even more unnecessary features (hit eject or lose you game save!) the release of Otomedius Gorgeous! will be accompanied by a, ahem, Hyper Stick Pro. Otomedius Gorgeous! is a port of the partially touch-screen controlled popular Japanese arcade shoot ‘em up, and to emulate …

Yeah, yeah, we know we posted just the other day that the Live Arcade would be actually seeing a release of Mega Man 9. Arstechnica seemed to have gotten their hands on a Capcom E3 roster and it had MM9 listed as being for all three of the console digital download services, which looked to be a confirmation of earlier rumblings out of the OFLC that also said that the game would be multiplatform.
Apparently, that story made the rounds so much that Capcom got …

Looks like UK gamers aren’t getting the short end of the stick when the band gets back together this September. Speaking with CVG a representative for Electronic Arts said Rock Band 2 is expected to hit shelves in the UK at the same time as its North American release. “We are expecting to see Rock Band 2 ship in September for the Xbox 360, with other platforms to follow,” stated the unnamed EA rep.
If it were to happen a simultaneous release for Rock Band 2 would be a …

Now that we know a bit more about Soul Calibur IV’s Create-A-Soul mode, it’s time to see some more of the old familiar faces we know and love. Thankfully, a pair of Soul Calibur IV videos on GameTrailers are just what the physician ordered. Neither video is especially long, but we do get a look at Voldo’s always disgusting form. So, that’s … um … good, we guess. Less disgusting is some footage of Ivy, Siegfried, and Amy. Overall, it looks pretty much …
