DragonBall Z…we have all been a fan of it one time or another. Me personally, I have always been a fan of the supernatural anime fighting that is DragonBall Z. To continue on, I just received my copy today in the mail and when I opened it I was excited and for good reason as well. The cover alone got me pumped to play the game. But priorities first, I had to go and buy some groceries and each second away from the game felt like an eternity. So finally, I get home, turn on my 360 and pop in the game. The next thing I knew I was witnessing one of the greatest graphical introductions I had ever seen. It looked exactly like the real thing I had watched a few years ago and this is really an achievement considering some games still have that 2d feel to it. But this game had that perfect 3d feel that made me feel like I was actually Goku (A.k.a Kakarote). I was about to begin story mode but then my cousins came over. They saw me playing and like any normal people wanted to play as well. I started multiplayer and didn’t expect much but it was definetly something. My cousin here was one of the best gamers I had ever seen so of course I got beat. But that didn’t matter to me. I was too into it; the moves, the kamehameha, the energy, the beams, the power, the graphics, the transformation into a super saiyan, and overall just the gameplay style. We played for about 2 hours then came some more priorities, I had to go out and do some gardening :(… I will skip the boring parts. I came back in alone 1 hour later and turned the game back on. I wanted to play live for a while. I turned on live and started. There weren’t that many people on but there were still some (about 65) and nevertheless the people that faced me, beat me. It was my first day playing so you can’t really blame me. I decided I would get a superior feeling for the game so I decided that I should finally start story mode.  The beginning of the story mode is probably the best. It really entices you. It’s similar to the show but different at the same time. I personally would say that it has a superior storyline than the actual show which is another reason why you should purchase it. As the story goes on your character develops and there are also some secrets you can uncover. The scenes in between make it even more exciting. I won’t reveal too much because seriously it’s worth it to purchase it for yourself. Believe me it’s the ideal game of it’s kind. Atari has really outdone themselves this time and has set the bar high for future releases. So why I’m here telling you about the game? Well basically it’s because I had to share it with the world or at least the readers of my blog. I told most of my friends and they have committed to buying it in a while. A little bit more about the game before I go. You can purchase this for the Xbox 360 or the Playstation 3. With either system you can play on the web and you can play single player (story mode) or multiplayer. The STORY MODE is awesome like I said before so yeah whatever you do, at least try it. Overall I would rate the game 9/10 just because of the breathtaking gameplay, sound effects, secrets, and the stunning graphics. If you can’t find it at your local store you can also buy it online at it’s official site http://www.atari.com/us/games/dragonballz_burst_limit/xbox_360 .

Who would have thought that all your whining, groaning and moaning would actually inspire change in a video game? We guess only developers who’re considered “cool” actually listen to their community, and in the case of Battlefield: Bad Company, the DICE crew is listening to community feedback and taking action.

Posting on the official Bad Company website, team DICE wanted to let everyone know that they’re listening and are looking into all the Bad Company improvements the community has suggested. The first update being the addition of a Conquest game mode that will be included in “The Conquest Pack” which is currently in MS cert. After that’s complete, DICE promises to look into issues surrounding things like auto balancing and stat exploits. Remember children, DICE listens and DICE reacts all because DICE cares.

Looking for an upgraded fighting game with no widescreen support, on the internet or modes to unlock? No? Well, if you change your mind Soulcalibur is now available on the Xbox Live Arcade. The classic fighter dropped as the lone release for the Arcade (as far as an actual game goes) and will hit your digital wallet up for 800 MS space-creds. Preparing gamers for the forthcoming Soul Calibur IV, the HD upgraded classic is a blended bag. Probably one of the best fighters of its time, the XBLA exclusive feels so stripped down it would be more at home propped up on cinder blocks. Which sucks because it’s still a rad game.

The next Team Fortress 2 update will be a Heavy one screenshot

Now that the Medic and Pyro have gotten their updates, there has been some speculation over which class Valve would be releasing new weapons and accomplishments for next. Even though there were some rumors that it would be the Spy — complete with fake update posters! — Valve has announced that the next update will be for everyone’s favorite minigun wielder, the Heavy Weapons Guy.

Valve has also decided to start giving us some insight on why exactly they make the changes they do in an attempt to be more open with their development process. In the latest post on the official Team Fortress 2 blog, Robin Walker talks about the need to set clear goals on what needs to be accomplished before the idea pitching process begins.

“We do design collaboratively at Valve, and one of the side effects of it is that we really need to be able to evaluate design ideas as objectively as possible. Otherwise design meetings would devolve into subjective arguing. We’ve found that the ideal method of working objectively is to have clear goals up front. Once we’ve got clear goals, we can throw a bunch of ideas up on the board and measure how well each idea achieves those goals. Often the work of testing those ideas against the goals causes us to further refine or clarify the goals.”

She sets forth their latest goal: finding a way to make the Heavy more viable when there aren’t any medics hovering around, and sets forth several constraints and parameters that need to be kept in mind when coming up with a solution. If you want to try coming up with your own awesome idea to solve the design goal (and rub it in Valve’s face) then head on over to the blog entry and give it a read.

Hands-on with Luc Bernard's Eternity's Child screenshot

Destructoid readers should no doubt be aware of Luc Bernard’s title, Eternity’s Child. The designer — who is active in the Destructoid community — has for a while now been documenting the title’s development quite publicly. Originally conceived as an Xbox LIVE Arcade title, Eternity’s Child will eventually be finding its home on the Wii via WiiWare and PC’s by way of Valve’s Steam service later this year.
