Metal Gear Solid 4 might be in the can, but development of Metal Gear Online continues. When we last spoke with Kojima Productions associate producer Ryan Payton, he confirmed that the MGO team would be busy for some time expanding and patching the multiplayer Metal Gear experience. Today saw the release of one of the fruits of its labor: a new game mode.

A recent rumor has been making the Internet rounds stating that this year’s E3 would be all but bereft of anything that wasn’t played on a console. Obviously, this isn’t the case, and was erroneously concocted when Microsoft said that they would not be focusing on PC games at E3 after holding the Games for Windows conference last month. Processor manufacturer Intel also mentioned that they would be skipping this year’s show.

What’s that? Galactic Civilizations II, one of my favorite turn-based strategy games in current years, is getting even more content? What wonderful news to wake up to on a Monday morning.
The new add-on for the futuristic space-based strategy game is subtitled Endless Universe, and, unlike previous expansions Dark Avatar and Twilight of the Arnor, won’t require the original game to play, acting a sort of stand alone title.
