Fable 2 community guru Sam has posted a hopeful (and obviously tired) developer blog over at the Lionhead community site. It seems like the crew at Lionhead has been in crunch mode for quite, working late nights with no days off. Sam notes, “The work is done, sort of. Not really, but most of it is.” We feel for them, we really do, but we must admit that’s not the interesting part of the blog. This is: “E3, next week. A lot is going to be happening. You’ll just have to wait and see what exactly, but if any of you say ‘this wasn’t worth it’ I will chase you and burn down your home.” Dare we hope that our Fable 2 on the internet co-op prognostication will finally come to be? We already scratched off one of our bingo spaces, here’s hoping for another.

Oh, and the game will be playable at E3 and, yes, we’ll be playing it.

Half-Life 2: Episode 3. The mere mention of the game makes our inner Valve-loving, Combine-hating, Crowbar-swinging heart go aflutter. That’s why when mention of actual Valve supplied Episode 3 “Advisor” concept artwork appearing at E3’s Into the Pixel art exhibition, we began to weep with excitement. Then we realized that the artwork had the descriptor reading “Platforms: PC, PS3 and Xbox 360″. Our weeps soon turned into a joyous outburst of all out waterfall tears. Episode 3, it might be revealed at E3, but is guaranteed to eventually be hitting the 360. Yippy!

Going HUD’less and doing away with pre-rendered cut scenes are oh so fashionable in the industry these days, so it should come as no surprise that Fable 2 will both both HUD’less and pre-rendered cut scene’less. OXM confirmed these deats after getting a chance to play a content-complete version of Fable 2 where they confirm that “non-interactive cinematics take up less than five minutes of game time” as well mention that no HUD will be used to “streamline the experience as much as possible.” Really, who needs HUDs or cut scenes anyway? Eh?

When the video game music genre gets too tough to compete, Konami has a master plan. They state screw trying to develop something new and innovative or even attempting to replicate their competitors. Why go through all that work when you can sue?

This past Wednesday in a Texas District Court, Konami filed a lawsuit against Harmonix, MTV Games and EA claiming that Rock Band infringes on three of their patents. Specifically, Konami claims that several of their patents from older titles like Guitar Freaks, Drummania, and Pop’n Music were ignored and therefore Rock Band is a franchise based on lies and deceit. What happend to the whole idea of music bringing people together?

Exciting news fellow Gears of War 2 fanboys (though, really, aren’t we all?), Geoff Keighley and GameTrailers Television will be airing brand spanking new, unseen Gears 2 footage TONIGHT on Spike. Yup, yup! According to their tiny teaser ad, they’ll be talking with Cliff and the Epic crew who’ll introduce fresh Gears 2 campaign footage as well as an unannounced multiplayer map. You can watch all the Cliff, Gears and bloody violent gameplay tonight at 1:00AM eastern (10:00PM pacific) on Spike and GameTrailers.com.

And if you aren’t busy, you may also want to stick around for the entire episode, because they promise to air the first footage from Rock Band 2 and Fallout 3 as well as BioWare’s new project. Double exciting!

[Thanks, surinder]

Those of you who really care about “spoliers” should shy away from this Force Unleashed trailer knowing simply that the game is looking good. For those who can see these type of “twists” coming a mile away (it is Star Wars after all) the spoilers won’t really matter. Plus, we’re sure there’s even more too come and we can’t help but be distracted by the wooden voice acting of the apprentice’s love interest.

Coming straight from the pages of Game Informer and landing on the ScoreHero forums is new Rock Band 2 information including sexy new drum sets as well as confirmation of seven additional tracks. Heck, there’s a boatload of other information too.

GI’s Rock Band 2 news-fest unveils photos of the game’s new drum set as well as a limited edition “Ion” drum kit that comes complete with three additional cymbals (don’t worry, the colors mirror those that are already on the pads) and can be used as an actual seven piece electric set. Though, the basic drums are no slouch, Harmonix added a metal reinforced foot pedal, expansion slots for cymbals, velocity sensitive pads and wireless connectivity. All upgrades we are happy to see and give two thumbs sign of the horns way up!

But that isn’t all, we also get seven additional Rock Band 2 songs to add to our ever growing list of confirmed setlist tracks. Hit the break to view the new seven and prepare to scream with excitement if you’re a fan of Billy Idol, RATM or Joan Jett.
