Well, the main Microsoft press conference has come and gone with many a megaton indeed. Still, there was one megaton which didn’t rear its head: Just what the heck is Bungie working on, and just why the heck is Bungie.net down “for cleaning”? Well Bungie, all your sly hinting was just to mess with us wasn’t it? Hopefully not though, as the site appears to be counting down to something (we’ll be watching that sucker, don’t worry). While it would be strange for a huge announcement from Bungie to not come via the press conference, don’t forget that they’re independent now and are likely trying to do things their own way.

Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada has just announced a version of Final Fantasy XIII will release on the Xbox 360. The former PlayStation franchise will now ship on the Microsoft branded console. No release date or other details have been made. Can we just state it now? WOW.
Prior to the trailer for Final Fantasy XIII’s Xbox 360 debut, Wada also drops some details on other Square titles. Infinite Undiscovery hits September 2 in NA, September 5 Europe, September 11, in Japan and Asia. Star Ocean: The Last Hope coming in Spring 2009 but wasn’t named as an Xbox 360 exclusive. Finally, Last Remnant hits the Xbox 360 first this holiday season across the world on November 20, 2008. The Last Remnant will also ship for the Personal computer, but a release date has yet to be decided.

Thanks to our friends at Button Bandits for noticing that the Xbox Live Primetime game show channel (revealed earlier this day at Microsoft’s pre-E3 press conference) will be launching only in North America, France, Germany and the U.K., according to a press release. The limited rollout could be due to licensing restrictions for Endermol’s game shows, or it could be to simply try the service out in a limited release before kicking it to the more massive world.

The recently rumored game show channel for Xbox Live was officially announced at this morning’s Microsoft press conference in the form of “Xbox Live Primetime.” TV producer Endemol has teamed up with Microsoft to produce the new massively-multiplayer game show channel, which will include a version of the semi-popular NBC show 1 vs. 100, complete with real prizes (no word on whether host Bob Saget is involved). Primetime is part of Microsoft’s new “Live Party” community channel, which includes the long-rumored Avatars. No word on what, if any, other game shows will be coming to Primetime, but we’re hoping for a version of Ninja Warrior that involves rampant button mashing.

Just to make sure, we checked with Harmonix to see if there was any other music sneaking into this week’s Rock Band DLC, like what happened with Weezer and Doolittle. So, for this week, the much anticipated “best of” The Who will be available, replacing The Who’s Who’s Next album originally announced many, many moons ago.
The Best of The Who Rock Band Edition (1600 MS points / $20) — All songs are also sold individually (160 MS Points / $2)

- “Baba O’Riley”
- “Behind Blue Eyes”
- “Eminence Front”
- “Going Mobile”
- “Leaving Here”
- “My Generation” (LIVE)
- “Real Good Looking Boy”
- “Sea & Sand”
- “Summertime Blues” (LIVE)
- “Who Are You”
- “Young Man Blues” (LIVE)

Uno Rush has been confirmed for release on Xbox Live later this year. No details on what the game is yet, but we hear that you’ll be able to win actual, real-life prizes while playing it, including possibly Xbox accessories, Microsoft Points, or even other games.
We’ll keep an eye on anything else we have the ability to find out about it — if old school Uno isn’t giving you a Wild Card Draw Four lately, keep an eye out for Rush.

Rock Band will debut exclusively on 360 with 84 songs on the disc which are all original master recordings, including Bob Dylan, AC/DC, Megadeath, Modest Mouse, and way more than we could list here (we’ll update when we can). Plus all the DLC from the first game will be compatible, and most of the tracks from Rock Band 1can be ripped from the disc, meaning no disc swapping. All in all, that means that when Rock Band 2 launches it will have over 500 available tracks.

Scene It: Box Office Smash and You’re In The Movies has just been announced exclusively for the Xbox 360. Scene It: Box Offlice Smash continues the motion picture trivia experience and takes it online. With more questions and mini-games the online experience should be a great addition to the fun party title.
Utilizing the Xbox Live Vision camera, players can create short ‘B’ movies with their families by participating in mini-games that are later combined into a short motion picture trailer. While it might sound strange, Xbox executives demoed the game live during the conference and it was quite amusing (as seen above). Both are expected to ship this holiday. As an added bonus, You’re In The Movies also includes the required Xbox Live Vision camera when it ships.
