E308: Gears of War 2 five-player co-op ‘Horde’ mode [Update 2]
Update 2: Gears of War 2 will release on November 7, 2008. ‘Horde’ mode grants five players to fight off wave, after wave of locust enemies. It looks like the campaign co-op is still two players, but boy does it look hot.
Update: ‘Horde’ mode allows five-players to have an on the internet co-op experience, whether or not that means the entire campaign is playable online remains to be seen.
Today at E3 2008, Microsoft is poised to announce a new Horde-mode for Gears of War 2 during a new level demo today at the Microsoft Press Conference. Along with the announcement of the mysterious ‘Horde’ mode, Xbox Live enable co-op campaign mode is also set to be unveiled. This information comes from a Gamerscore Blog video that leaked early from the GSB Video RSS feed.
Gears of War 2 is set to release this November from developer Epic Games. Today’s news adds to the growing list of new features for the anticipated sequel that include new characters, weapons and multiplayer options including bots and weapon specific executions.
