Ah, case mods. As much as I like my self-built gaming rig I can’t but think how much more I’d care about it if, rather then its sturdy yet plain case, it was housed inside a scale replica of the Outlaw Star, complete with functional grappler arms. Yeah, that’d be pretty awesome, but seeing as how I unfortunately lack any sort of skill with hand tools it probably won’t be happening any time soon. Guess I’ll just have to admire the works of others and think about what could be.

Scene It: Box Office Smash and You’re In The Movies has just been announced exclusively for the Xbox 360. Scene It: Box Offlice Smash continues the motion picture trivia experience and takes it online. With more questions and mini-games the on the internet experience should be a great addition to the fun party title.

Today during the Microsoft Press Conferenc, Microsoft announced a handful of new XBLA titles. Along with Portal: Still Alive, gamers can expect to play Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 as well as Galaga Legions exclusively coming to the Xbox 360 next month. Microsoft also teased an exclusive South Park based XBLA title, but no other details are known at this time. While discussing the upcoming Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts also announced the original N64 classic will be made available on XBLA this fall.

After our initial reveal of the Xbox 360 avatars, it was still in the realm of rumors. Now, after the Microsoft press conference, we can be sure that they’re totally real. And they’re just a small part of a much larger overhaul to the entire 360 Dashboard. Avatars will integrated into the more massive 360 experience via a community “channel”, when your friends come online, their avatars will appear in stated channel.

Update: Portal: Still Alive is exclusive to Xbox 360 this fall.
It looks like Portal will live on. Microsoft will announce Portal: Still Alive will continue the single player story found in the original Orange Box collection, and will add new challenges. With the popularity raging from the original, this looks to be a large win for Microsoft when it hits the service. The announcement comes from the leaked Gamerscore Blog video, which has now been removed. No word on exclusivity.

Update: Lips ships this holiday season with mics that light up and utilize motion control (an example used was shaking the controller as a tambourine) and lets players connect any of their music devices to play their own music.The rumors were true. According to the, now deleted, Gamerscore Blog video press release Microsoft will announce that the rumored Lips music game is a reality. Coming to us from the developers of Oblivion and Morrowind, Fallout 3 is the post-apocalyptic role playing game featuring the 1950’s styled world and based on the classic PC series. After the preview in the press conference with it’s faux “informational video” advertising Vault-tec Microsoft brought out Fallout 3 producer, Todd Howard, and he played the game live in front of the crowd. The newest trailer (shown to the crowd before the gameplay) will be on XBLM soon.

Microsoft is set to announce a 2 player on the web co-op mode for Fable 2 to go along with the drop-in drop-out offline co-op mode already announced at GDC 2008. The on the web mode seems to be the missing piece of details regarding the anticipated role-playing adventure. Anticipate to be able to play through the entire story with a friend when the game releases — which is expected to be this fall.
