When I saw the debut teaser for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Fusion during E3, I got pretty excited. The teaser said that we’d be able to fuse Marvel’s greatest heroes powers together. As it turns out, Activision meant something totally different from what people were probably anticipating.
All of the attacks shown in the trailer have nothing to do with fusion. What’s really happening is “team attack”. THE HULK PICKING UP WOLVERINE, SPINNING HIM AROUND AND THEN THROWING HIM IS NOT FUSION. Now the Hulk receiving Wolverine’s claws (albeit pretty …

Even the blurriness and brevity of this video has tiny impact on awesomeness of what transpires onscreen. Though only 10 seconds in length, we finally get a peek at what Criterion was talking about when they mentioned adding not only bikes, but planes in a future update to Burnout Paradise.
The jury is still out on how well the whole biplane thing is going to fit into the overall scheme of the game (Imagine the joy of swooping down on automobiles speeding towards the finish, and witnessing the spectacular crashes …

Electronic Arts has announced a partnership with DC Comics to produce a six part comic series based on the upcoming run-em-up Mirror’s Edge. The comic will take place before the events of the game and chronicle the back-story of its main character, Faith, promising that “Frame by frame, page by page, [readers will] learn more about the events that shaped both her and the city.” The comic will be penned by Rhianna Pratchet — who is also the writer of the game itself — and drawn by artist …

We have Halo 3 collectible figure news that comes straight from the floor at Comic-Con, where Weta unveiled a set of five new collectible statues depicting Master Chief, Cortana and various action scenes from within’ the Halo universe. Currently, there are no pricing or release date details available, but just by looking at the quality and detail put into every one, we’d anticipate them to come with a pretty hefty price tag. Chatting with Gamasutra during Seattle’s recent GameFest, Epic Games’ Mike Capps confirmed progress on Unreal Engine 4 mentioning that it should be ready for debut “…in the next console generation - our rough guess is 2012 - 2018.” Interesting too was confirmation from Capps that the UE4 will have “console focus” where “version 4 will exclusively target the next console generation, Microsoft’s successor for the Xbox 360, Sony’s successor for the Playstation 3 - and if Nintendo ships a machine with similar hardware specs, then that also. PCs …

PlayStation 3 owners who subscribe to Sony’s “interactive magazine” Qore will be able to participate in Resistance 2’s beta this September (via IGN). The details are sketchy at the moment — we’re going to guess you’ll have to pay the $25 annual subscription fee and not just $3 for the related episode — but the thought of 60-player team deathmatch has us frothing at the mouth. No beta details revealed yet for the Qore-less Europe.
Update: Posting on myresistance.net, Insomniac Community …

Unlike Microsoft’s Don Mattrick previously reported, Bungie president Harold Ryan is denying ever laughing over news that their special Halo announcement would be postponed until after E3. “I certainly didn’t agree with the decision to delay our news until sometime after E3,” Ryan explained, re-iterating the fact that “Bungie is always concerned first and foremost with our fans. Whenever we are prevented from exceeding their positive expectations it is not a laughing matter.” 100% concurred. Postponed Halo game announcements are no laughing matter. No laughing matter at all.
