Soul Calibur IV – Does it meet up to the expectations?
Soul Calibur IV (4) was released a few months back, it was a long awaited release considering that the previous one swept the nation on the Ps2. So you could imagine that I was more than a little excited when I got my hands on a copy. The graphics on the cover and the Cd itself were astoundingly incredible which was leading up to the suspense. So I started my 360 and popped it in awaiting something great.
The intro screen itself got my hyped up about the game. It was about a soldier standing alone on the top of a tower victoriously after fighting and some kind of power had been released. Then there were the rest of the fighters fighting one another as well and guess what. YODA was there. Woot. Well yeah the introduction was great and I advocate that you check it for yourself to see how great it truly is.
Okay enough about the introduction, now let’s move onto the game. The game starts you off with 20,000 G which you can use to improve your player or to purchase/unlock other players. Don’t go spending it all at once now, spend it wisely. You can also earn more money through the story mode as well. Talking about the story it gives you the chance to go through the story mode as different characters each with a different perspective which makes it interesting. I of course selected yoda and I was so into the game that I finished the story mode rather quickly. If I was to rate the gameplay I would say that it took a massive step when it comes to graphics over the soul calibur 3 and it might be one of the best 3d fighting games that exist today. Putting together all the factors I would say that it is a great game for just about everyone and I would give it a rating of 8/10.
Now I’m off to go continue playing, and if you’re thinking if it’s worth the buy, trust me it is. I’ve played a lot of games in my life and this is one of the ideal. Now finally to answer the question that I posed; Does soul calibur really meet up to the expectations? Of course it does, it’s amazing.
