Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is one of the more high-profile MMOs to have surfaced in the post-Warcraft boom. With both the power of Games Workshop and Electronic Arts behind it, developer EA Mythic had one of the ideal chances to make WAR last in a genre where only the strong survive, and so far things are going very well indeed.

With a successful WAR launch under its belt, EA Mythic very kindly allowed Destructoid some time with senior designer Josh Drescher to discuss how the game’s doing so far, what it’s like working with the Warhammer license and why some gamers might find the Witch Hunter overpowered.

Burnout is a 'postage stamp' compared to Fuel, claims Codemasters screenshot

If they say size doesn’t matter, then Codemasters certainly isn’t listening. The company’s Mad Max-style racer Fuel is being sold on the scale of its large open world, something which Codies’ David Brickley is claiming would need to be contained on four Blu-ray discs if it was developed using traditional methods.

He also claimed that Fuel’s world completely dwarfs the play area of EA’s Burnout Paradise, saying that it was the size of a postage stamp in comparison.

This trailer for Sacred 2 is the most amazingly epic thing I’ve seen all day, and also the most tragic. It’s not every day that you get to see an in-game music video for a German “Fantasy Metal” band that includes skeletons getting their heads knocked off, right?
