Early on in my blogging career at Destructoid, I told you about an online golf game called Gimme Golf. At the time, its developers, Skill Technology, were taking sign-ups for a closed beta. According to a press release (after the jump), over 1,000 players tried out the closed session.

Well, the game is now truly open — anyone can head on over to the game’s Web site, sign up with just a username, a password, and an email address, and start playing after a relatively swift download! As of now, the game features three full, 18-hole courses and four avatars, each with his or her own personality. It’s a Web app, and you can play either single-player games or multiplayer games (the game supports up to four players in a game via a lobby system).

Gimme Golf is free to play, but here’s an enticing note: there are weekly drawings for a $100 cash prize, and all you have to do to enter is take part in a multiplayer game! Go give it a shot at gimmegolf.com and check out two screenshots in the gallery.
