Ka-boom. This day, Eidos dropped a bunch of screenshots from Just Cause 2, the sequel to — wait for it — Just Cause. As with the previous incarnation, developer Avalanche Studios appears poised to bring all sorts of crazy, explosive action to player’s fingertips this fall.
And destruction is never bad, right? Every game needs bazookas, helicopters, and fire. (Yes, that statement includes Gardening Mama and WiiFit. Especially WiiFit.)
Anyway, Just Cause 2 will take place on another pretty tropical island and will once again star Rico Rodriguez. The little press …

According to GamesIndustry.biz’s unnamed sources, Starbreeze Studio is working on a new Syndicate title for Electronic Arts. The title is said to be in development (surprise!) for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Computer.

No money for a secondary display? No use for that worn-down PSP? There’s hope for the future, friend. Hacker avi has discovered that Sony’s handheld makes for a wonderful status monitor, providing a clean look at your PC’s CPU usage, memory allocation and system temperature levels. All you’ll need is a bit of training in Python, Lua for the PSP and a sister willing to halt watching UMD movies long enough for you to give this a go.

Looks like Insomniac Naughty Dog (Uncharted 2) and SCE Studios Santa Monica (God of War III) weren’t the only victims of footage theft at Game Developers Conference 2009. Recently, we caught possible Mass Effect 2 footage uploaded on YouTube with the heading “Mass Effect 2 LEAK from GDC Presentation.” The title is surprisingly clear, however, we can’t if the footage came from GDC or if it’s even real.
Ultimately, those are your decisions to make. I’m thinking it’s real, because it’s obviously nabbed from a raw product. I’ve put the …

Yep. My pants need a-changin’. Today Activision dropped a bunch of screenshots for the next title in the Wolfenstein franchise, Wolfenstein. While the name is bland, the game certainly doesn’t appear to be. These screens are chock full of occult, funny tints, skeletal Nazi dudes, and 1940s firepower.
Basically, these screens are everything a Wolfie fan desires from a sequel.
If you’re wondering about the blue tint, I have the ability to assure you it’s not just an effect created to give you chills. As Nick found out at New York Comic …

Shortly before attending GDC 09, I learned that Crytek announced the CryENGINE 3. I’m not a large Computer gamer, so I didn’t really look into the announcement. It’s Crytek, so I knew it was going to be more massive and badder than ever … and you’d most likely need a rig like this to run it. Needless to say, I was quite shocked when I walked into my appointment with Crytek to see an Xbox 360 sitting on the ground running the CryENGINE 3.

Nintendo just rolled out its own pretty significant update for the Wii, so it only seems fitting that the homebrew community has now done the same, with the always prolific Waninkoko coming through with a new USB Loader that’ll let you play your “legal game backup collection” from any old USB mass storage device. While it’s apparently not ready for public consumption just yet, the video after the break does do a decent job of demonstrating that it does, in fact, work as promised. Of course, there’s always the slight …

We’ve nothing to go on but a good man’s word, but we’re hearing that the permanent retail price of Sony’s aged PlayStation 2 console will soon fall below the magical $100 mark. And really, it’d be about time. If you’ll recall, Sony last adjusted the price of the PS2 in (surprise!) April of 2006, and if this here tip proves true, the company will choose April of 2009 to push the MSRP down to $99.99. The image above comes from a generally trustworthy Kmart pricing system, and while we’re certain …

And before we start, yes, it looks like the “Future” part of the title is back (silly, press release).
On Friday night’s episode of GameTrailers Television, the WORLD EXCLUSIVE teaser for this fall’s recently announced Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time had its debut. (I type “WORLD EXCLUSIVE” in all caps because wait until you get a load of how dramatic the graphic and accompanying sound effects are.)
First impressions? Awesome … even though not much is shown at all. Insomniac has a near flawless record with its Ratchet & …
