To be honest, we never expected it to happen. We’re so used to Japan getting awesome PS1 titles that never come to the US or Europe, we just assumed Final Fantasy VII would be one of them. The ESRB states otherwise, however, as it has rated the game for both the PSP and PS3, meaning that we could see it release at any time. Wouldn’t that make make a great E3 week treat?
Whether this will be released in Europe is at the whim of Square Enix, though there’s no listing …

Gearbox’s Borderlands has been capturing the attention of the people ever since its hot new graphical style was unleashed upon an unsuspecting world. Now, after all the screenshots and magazine scans, Borderlands is finally available in moving picture format, and it’s looking incredibly promising. It’s like Mad Max meets Crackdown, and that’s a very sexy combo.
Hit the jump to view the video and let us know what you think. All I know is, I’m bummed I’ll be too busy to check it out at E3 personally. Somebody will be …

Remember when those slim PS3 shots came out and skeptics bemoaned the missing “spiderman font” as proof of mischief? Well, if you believe that the PSP Go is a lock, and really, at this point there’s no reason to doubt it, then a side-by-side shot of the PSP Go and trim PS3 box art should be quite revealing… and it is. Note the similar font, horizontal band, and general placement of device specs like memory capacity. Pretty similar, thus giving the slim PS3 rumor that much more weight. If this …

I’m looking at these images from a Hong Kong blog, and they totally look like The Real Thing™ to me. Sure they’re blurry, but those applications’ user interface definitely screams Apple design. The gallery shows the video/camera screen, compass, and the autofocus, among other things.
Yes, the more I look at these images, the more I’m convinced …

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood won’t be light on grit and story if we take the last few teaser trailers released by Ubisoft at face value. However, if we did take the teasers literally, we wouldn’t have much of a game to expect — snappy Wild West one-liners, hard-boiled vixens, and icy stares don’t combine to make a great title. There simply needs to be something else that ties the aforementioned elements together.
Considering Bound in Blood is a shooter, that missing factor is the gunplay. Good news is that …

The best game show ever, without a doubt, is Press Your Luck. Why? The Whammy. Maybe I’m dating myself here (the show went off the air in 1986), but if you know what I’m talking about… you know what I’m speaking about.
Ubisoft definitely knows what I’m talking about, as they’re planning to bring three classic game show titles to the Nintendo DS, Wii, and Windows Personal computer this year. Press Your Luck 2010 (“No Whammies! Large money!”) will be joined by Family Feud 2010 and an “all new expanded …

The ESRB has revealed a list of games that could appear on the PSN soon. All six games (as detailed in the image above) are PS1 titles that have yet to appear on the PlayStation Store.
Are these the games Sony’s John Koller was talking about when he stated PSN was to receive more from the classics library? This list may not be the ultimate, but it’s a start. With the mention of this, and Resident Evil having been loaded onto PSN yesterday, it looks like SCEA is fulfilling its …

Yeah, you heard it right: another volume of Guitar Hero — the game you either love to hate or love to love — is making its debut on September 1st. This one, Guitar Hero 5, promises a bunch of features that are party friendly, such as the ability to play through sets with no players actively playing, allowing anyone to join in at any time — because we all know how many ragers are built around GH, right? It’s probably no coincidence that the release date comes exactly one week …

You may remember that Harry Potter and a second Indiana Jones game were confirmed to be getting the LEGO treatment back in March. LucasArts and Traveler’s Tales are finally talking about one of those titles, confirming LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues coming to Computer, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS and PSP this fall.
Though the name is different than the last time we heard about it, the new Indy will still apparently cover the latest film in the series. We can’t wait to see if a LEGO fridge can …
