We’ve already seen Nokia’s Maemo 5-powered N900 pull off some pretty fanciful tricks, but without qualification this is the one most dear to our hearts. Somehow or another, Konttori managed to get his palms around an N900 of his own, and rather than testing out the social networking abilities or battery life, he simply installed an SNES emulator, tweaked it to accept Wiimote controls and even connected it to his TV for a staggeringly authentic gameplay experience. Vicarious living is just a click or two away, so hop on past …

Steve Jobs said people don’t read any more. But Apple is talks with several media companies rooted in print, negotiating content for a “new device.” And they’re not just going for e-books and mags. They’re aiming to redefine print.
Several years ago, a modified version of OS X was presented to Steve Jobs, running on a multitouch tablet. When the question of “what would people do with this?” couldn’t be answered, they shelved it. Long having established music, movie and TV content, Apple is working hard to load up iTunes with …

Monte Cristo Games’ ambitious "next-generation" PC city building game, Cities XL, is now available for pre-order on steam.
For $39.99, you can pre-order the "Limited Edition" which gets you the entire game, five additional maps, five exclusive landmarks, two permanent blueprints, a unique city hall, a t-shirt for your in-game avatar, and a unique "web tag." Not sure what that last one means, but it sounds fancy.
The game will be available on October 9, so if you’re interested in building and micro-managing the hell out of fictional cities, head over to the Steam …

Wow … I know that Sony can go a little nuts when it comes to weird PS3 commercials, but this Chilean ad really takes home the prize. The commercial portrays a gamer giving blood to a Nazi officer. Seriously, Sony is telling consumers that PS3 fans are essentially Nazi sympathizers.
To be fair, the Nazi in question is meant to be Erwin Rommel, generally considered the best of a bad lot, but even so, this is has caused quite a bit of uproar since its unveiling. The casual observer …

For some people, the sight of a gaming console broken open, exposing its parts to the world, can be something of utter agony. Not for the Museum of Game Science in Tokyo, where you can find the entire line of PlayStation and Xbox consoles disassembled and dissected for all to see.
Seen in Engadget’s video above, one thin layer of glass is all that prevents the intrepid cameraman from reaching into the displays and pulling bits from here, bobs from there to assemble the world’s first supermega-gen console: XStation 720. Knowing …

Feel free to feign surprise, but seeing how Sony handled the PlayStation 3 Slim’s launch, we kind of expected this. According to an anonymous tipster, at least one Metro Atlanta-area Target store has the PSP Go in stock and is apparently already selling them to (presumably) eager customers. So much for that October 1st street date, but you’re still gonna have to wait until then for all the new digital content. We’ve pinged Sony for more details. In the meantime, anyone else happen upon the new portable during their daily …

Want to a free copy of Borderlands? Can’t help you there — sorry! Want to play Borderlands with folks from Gearbox? That you can manage, provided you pre-order the game and prove it to the game’s Creative Director, Mike Neumann.
Yesterday, Neumann — the man who writes the dialogue for everyone’s favorite robotic pal, Claptrap — threw out a challenge on Twitter.
"Today is official Borderlands Pre Order day," he wrote, "Twitter me a screen of you buying the game and I’ll play Borderlands with you and give you some loot." …

Most jackets trap your body’s warmth. Few generate their own. The Mountain Hardwear Refugium Jacket includes a cleverly concealed battery that warms your core for 8.6 hours and includes the option to charge your gadgets, too.
The heat is customizable, featuring three levels of warmth that you activate with a tab in the coat’s chest (sort of like a very lame Iron Man).
This coat, as described so far, will run you $375.
For another $50, you can add a USB adapter that leads into a pocket that’s fed from the same battery …

It’s been a looooong time coming, but Gran Turismo is finally, finally getting car damage in the game. It was absent from GT5: Prologue, but it’s here now. This was confirmed a while back at GamesCon I believe, but not much was seen and details were scarce. Above you’ll see IGN’s video of car damage from TGS. The guys over there also confirmed that damage will be possible on every car in the game, though street cars may be limited in the amount of damage that can be done to …

Miruko is the creepiest gaming device we’ve seen in a while — but it’s also downright awesome. A robotic interface boasting WiFi and a built-in camera, it’s designed to be worn and used in augmented reality, real life gaming situations, able to detect things — like monsters — that are invisible to the human eye. Once the robot detects the presence of said monster (or zombie), it fixes its gaze on the object, allowing the gamer to follow its line of sight and then.. you know, destroy it — …
