I think that if I hadn’t played Yoshio Ishii’s Cursor*10, I wouldn’t have had any idea what was going on in Echoshift. But because I have played both Cursor*10 and its sequel, I had no problem playing Echoshift, because the Echochrome sequel is that game, but side-scrolling. This is not a complaint. Echoshift was one of the most engrossing games at Tokyo Game Show. There’s far more room for exploration in the still-fresh time-loop genre.

The Brabus Mercedes-Benz Viano Lounge, which is so high-end it’s called a “Lounge” and not a van (spoiler: it’s a van), is chock full of pretty much the most impressive array of tech gear we’ve ever seen on four wheels.
A short list of included gadgetry: A 32-inch electrically-deployed LCD, Wi-Fi, included Sony Vaio laptop, PS3, optional (and ridiculous) Vertu Constellation luxury phone and an espresso maker, all crammed into a van with 426HP. It’s still a concept, so there’s no price, but it’s definitely good to see a totally insane …

If there’s one thing that the Battlefield series is getting a solid rep for it is its multiplayer, especially after the phenomenal success of Battlefield: 1943 (once it started actually working). It should come as no surprise then that the developers are pimping Battlefield: Bad Company 2‘s multiplayer gameplay long before they have even mentioned anything about the single player. The above video outlines the Atacam Desert multiplayer map and uses it to show off Battlefield‘s vehicle action, graphical prowess and level destruction. Not to mention giving Karl-Magnus Troedsson a …

It’s not doing anything crazy like lowering the price, but it looks like Mad Catz is at least set to give fighting game fans a few more options when it comes to choosing their peripheral of choice. As usual, the headliner is the company’s Tournament Edition fightstick, which dials things back after the explosion of color on the Comic-Con exclusive edition, but otherwise remains identical inside and out. Those that honed their Street Fighter skills on their SNES or Genesis can also now choose from a new range of fightpads, …

Heavy Rain has been getting plenty of good hype around the gaming sphere and now it’s about to get even more with the revelation that there’s nudity of the boobage kind in the game. As you can see in the video above, which is completely not safe for work, the main hero has a gun pointed at her and her best shot of not getting shot is taking her top off.
After she takes her top off, she does a little dance and when the timing is right, she knocks the …

This is a weird one: Google has just slapped Cyanogen, maker of the biggest and most successful Android ROM mod around, with a cease-and-desist letter. But Google’s reasoning doesn’t make any sense, and we’re wondering what their game is.
See, Google’s cease-and-desist specifically states that Cyanogen should stop passing around Google’s closed-source apps like Google Maps, Google Talk and Gmail, because those are only supposed to be used on Google Experience Android devices like the G1 and MyTouch 3G. That makes sense, except for one thing: Cyanogen only works on the …

Hideo Kojima wasn’t kidding around when he said his crack MGS4 development team was going for an epic, console-quality Metal Gear experience with Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker on PSP. This freshly released TGS 2009 trailer for the game is proof positive that Kojima Productions is putting its all into the release — it looks absolutely amazing, clearly building on the presentation and gameplay of both MGS4 and MGS3: Snake Eater.
Of course, you don’t just have to settle for the trailer. Once it’s got you good and pumped …

While Sony seemed more than willing to show off its new PSP Go Converter and even more willing to gloat about its one millionth PS3 Slim sale, this little tidbit was pushed away in some neglected corner of the Tokyo Game Show. Thankfully for you, we’re dedicated to leaving no stone unturned, and now we’ve discovered that the outfit is fixing to cut 15 percent from the PSP-3000′s price tag… but only in Japan. Starting on October 1st, the UMD-friendly handheld will be offered in The Land of the Rising …
