The PSP version of LittleBigPlanet is two shoulder buttons and an analog stick away from being one of the greatest games on Sony’s portable platform.
There were plenty of things I loved in the original LBP — frantic multiplayer, outstanding artistic and musical design, and an endless pool of community-generated content, to name a few — but all of the game’s delightful components relied heavily upon the strength of the its creation engine, and the aforementioned community’s willingness to master the tools they’ve been provided.
While the PSP version of the …

Okay, pretend to be surprised if you want, but Facebook and PlayStation 3 are coming together, sort of. We saw the tiniest bit of teaser last week via leaked photo, and now we’ve got details and a release date. Users will have the option of sending status updates for PSN purchases and Trophies whenever the user syncs up the account to the PlayStation servers, and developers can now integrate automatic updates when certain game events occur, similar to what we saw with the recent Uncharted sequel. Unfortunately, some of …

Snake’s first “solid” adventure is finally making its way to Europe’s PSN. Eurogamer reports Konami’s announcement that the tactical espionage action title will arrive this Thursday, November 19, for £8. We’ve followed up with Sony Europe and a representative confirmed the release.
The PSN version of MGS is the original game released on PlayStation and not the Twin Snakes update released in 2004. For those living the States, the title has been available since this summer. The release of the first Metal Gear Solid on PSN will be followed by MGS: …

In case you own The Beatles: Rock Band and for some reason don’t know what Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band sounds like, Harmonix, MTV Games, and Apple Corp. would like to remind you.
That’s what this little trailer is for, as the remaining tracks from the historic album will be available for Xbox 360 and Wii tomorrow, for 1080 MS Points, or 160 MS Points/200 Wii Points per song. PlayStation 3 owners can grab the tracks when PlayStation Network updates on Thursday, for $13.49, or $1.99 per song.
The music sounds …

As everybody knows by now, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 includes an incredibly controversial level set in a Russian airport that has generated much discussion. The level has proven to be so inflammatory that the real-life Russia has acted, recalling all copies of the game from stores and effectively banning the title.
Infinity Ward has opted to patch the level out entirely for Russian consumers, and an edited version of the game is expected to be re-released in less than a month, pending government approval. Even that may not pass, …

Detective’s Notebook, November 15: It was raining. The mother? Crying. Timmy, the son, and friend Jimmy turned in at 11. Timmy said he went to bed on a bunk, woke up on a couch. I think I know what happened.
Little squirt’s a couch cushion now, that’s what happened. Somewhere in there, beneath polyester layers, foam and particleboard, lay a flattened Jimmy.
I hope it was quick. I hope it really was an accident. We may never know. The truth may have very well ended up lost in the cracks between those …

I am ashamed of two things. 1) That in our quest for the cyborg life, we were beaten to the punch by SkyMall, and 2) that none of the following products are fake.
Let’s just get this first one out of the way: Not only does the Head Spa Massager look like someone in the 1970s designed it in a future-Sparta fashion, but it’s a massage helmet. You look ridiculous, and it can’t even secretly double as a sexual aid.
This handsome silver fox has it going on. I mean, …

It might be telling that the first time I heard of tri-Ace’s newest RPG was when it had its name changed from End of Eternity to Resonance of Fate for the international release. It was strange to me at the time since both names were in English and made about the same amount of sense, but I shrugged it off and went on with my life. With this new uber-trailer out in the wild though, I’m thinking that I might have to pay more attention, because the game looks goddamn …

The BBC’s iPlayer streaming video / radio service has been available on the Wii in the form of a browser-based app for some time now, but it looks like it’s now set to step up its game considerably with a full-fledged iPlayer Wii channel. Launching in the UK on November 18th, the new channel boasts a streamlined, Wii-friendly interface that was apparently the result of extensive testing, and includes a number of other smaller design touches, like some nifty background animations during radio programs, and some use of the Wiimote’s …

You can tell the recession is dramatically affecting folks all over the United States when stories about kidnappers forcing their detainee to buy them gaming consoles arise. That’s exactly what Kyle Yarkosky is alleging that David Daniels and another unnamed suspect did to him, after forcing him at gunpoint into their vehicle, having him steal his stepfather’s credit card, and then drive to the local Walmart where they made him buy them a PlayStation 3.
Naples News reports that the suspected assailants entered the Pebblebrooke Lakes gated community in a white …
