THQ’s upcoming shooter Metro 2033 is slightly more upcoming than we had anticipated. The Russian-themed post-apocalyptic FPS has just been announced for a March 16 release date in North America. Europe will be getting the game on March 19.
A limited edition version of the game has also been announced, which strikes me as arrogant for a fresh IP, but there you are. The special edition comes with an exclusive in-game weapon and four art cards.
Metro 2033 is based on a cult Russian novel of the same name. It revolves around …

We’ve been so caught up in the Windows Mobile 7 launch date rumors, we almost forgot about Microsoft’s supposed leaked minimum specifications requirements. After all, this is a company that issued maximum Windows 7 netbook specs.
Supposedly, Microsoft’s weighing down on hardware manufacturers wishing to create tidy little phones for the platform, with the following list of minimum specifications garnered by Eldar Murtazin, the editor of leaky site Mobile-Review:
- 1GHz processor
- 3.6-inch WVGA display
- G-sensor accelerometer and compass
- 8GB of internal storage
- 5.0-megapixel camera
I’ve got to say, if Murtazin is on …

Yes, you read that right. There won’t be any LAN support for the console or PC versions of BioShock 2. Dedicated servers are also out completely.
The Cult of Rapture put up a Q&A list of multiplayer related key points and LAN support and dedicated servers just weren’t able to make it in. Digital Extremes, the developers behind BioShock 2′s multiplayer, wanted to ensure they created a solid game foundation first and foremost. They could have either spent all their resources doing everything and leaving things feeling unfinished, or they could …

Today’s remainders are the leftovers tidbits from the big iPad day such as a comparison between Judas and the Apple device, ownership of ipad dot com, imaginary cameras, and silly Steve’s price switcheroo.
Judas, Brutus, and the iPad
The fantastic Murray the Nut decided to share his feelings about the Apple iPad in comic form. I’m not sure if I agree about feeling betrayed, but I somehow do feel a bit letdown after all the crazy rumors that flew around before the event.
I’ll completely forgive Apple when they build an iPad with …

For what it’s worth, every bit of Resonance of Fate we’ve seen so far looks mighty enticing. From gorgeous screenshots, to long dramatic CG trailers, to those full of bullets (and even some gameplay), Tri-Ace’s upcoming RPG certainly gives us the impression it’ll be a blast to play — heck, we even enjoyed our first hands-on with the game back at TGS 2009.
All that said, even in light of the four-minute-long opening we’ve dropped above (from the Japanese Xbox 360 version, titled End of Eternity), we’re about as worried …

Apple didn’t give us a great amount of time with its newly unveiled iPad today, and as you’ve likely seen, we spent the bulk of our allotment touching the unit itself. Lost in the proverbial shuffle were a number of the unit’s launch accessories, including the admittedly intriguing keyboard dock ($69), case ($39), iPad Dock Connector to VGA adapter ($29) and camera connection kit ($29). Each of these doodads seem to look and feel exactly as you’d expect ‘em to, though we’re still baffled by Apple’s decision to make you …

On the off chance that someone didn’t already inform you of today’s grand news, here goes: the beloved Psychonauts can now be obtained from Steam for a measly two bucks through Thursday.
I played the Xbox version way back when, but never finished it for reasons that now escape me. Essentially, I stand for all the things you hate in this world and am now your archenemy for life because I did not play a game you find to be particularly awesome.
That would be the case, had it not been for …

PlayStation 3 owners who pick up a copy of Dante’s Inferno: Divine Edition get treated to free downloadable content, a prequel level called “Dark Forest.” In fact, since all versions of Dante’s Inferno for PS3 are this “Divine Edition,” everyone on the PS3 gets it.
What of Xbox 360 owners? Speaking with press at a round-table last night, executive producer Jonathan Knight reveals that the content would also be coming to the 360… but for a price. The content will arrive in March.
Free content is not the only thing you’ll get with …

Not being able to take bottled water on the plane is one of the most frustrating things about traveling. You have to constantly catch the steward’s attention, flapping your arms screaming GIVE ME WATER NOOOOW. But that could change, soon.
The US Department of Homeland Security has commented on the restrictive no-liquids rule, claiming their “government brainiacs” have created an airport bag scanner which would stop the need to sort all liquids out of their hand luggage into little plastic baggies, using magnetic resonance scanner technology. The machine has been dubbed …

Today’s Nexus One may be the hottest keyboard-free Android smartphone on the market today, but it doesn’t exactly have the hottest network support. That looks like it’ll be changing soon thanks to Walmart of all places, which has put up a “Coming Soon!” page for the Nexus One, listing an impressive suite of wireless bands including 1xEvDO for 3G on Sprint and Verizon and UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900 for 3G on AT&T. Could this finally be the network-agnostic smartphone (or smartphones, as the case may be) that Google has wanted, or is …
