It’s come to our attention that Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter was recently given a loving update from Croteam, and we wanted to return the favor. The main draw here is the new 16-person Deathmatch mode with 7 maps, 22 Steam Achievements, and Spectator mode support.
There are a number of less important (but still totally neat) additions thrown in the mix, plus a few bug fixes; all of this can be seen in detail after the break.
For anyone who’s left Serious Sam HD sitting in their Steam account for …

We like little computers, but we also like big-bitrate video content, and thanks to media accelerators like Broadcom’s Crystal HD we can have our proverbial cake and proverbially eat it, too — at least up to 720p. We’ve had issues with 1080p on that chip and, while that may be due to troublesome Flash betas, Via is saying its upcoming VX900 media system processor suffers from no such limitation. A back-to-back video captured by Netbooknews seems to back that up, embedded below and showing a VX900 running the 1080p Avatar …

“It would let me set up shop at that posh cafe down the street.” That’s how you justified your laptop purchase — but as you sat, gently sipping your macchiato, you realized it would never work without your decidedly non-portable 24-inch Cinema Display‘s extra real estate. We’ve been there many a time, and apparently so has a startup named MEDL Technology, which has just finished prototyping the answer to our telecommuting (and portable gaming) woes. Going above and beyond the average, tiny secondary display, “The Panel” is an honest-to-goodness 13.3-inch …

Simulation sports games have a doubly difficult job: not only are they tasked with delivering a realistic playable version of a particular sport, but they also must present an experience that looks and sounds like a television broadcast of that sport. Sony’s MLB The Show series has excelled in both areas for years. But because sports games come out on an annual basis, consumers demand even more — each new iteration must be markedly different from, and better than, its predecessors.
How much innovation does MLB 10 The Show …

So, what would you imagine to be included in a special edition version of Capcom’s upcoming pseudo-expansion pack, Super Street Fighter IV? Perhaps a FightStick emblazoned with the personas of the game’s new characters? That’s a pretty good guess, but the correct answer was, of course, a USB flash drive, a gym bag, a head band, a Dudley T-shirt and an aluminum water bottle. Sorry! You were so close.
Capcom recently began taking pre-orders on the “Dojo Edition” of SSFIV, which retails for a crisp $79.99. Yes, that’s double the price …

T-Mobile’s not officially selling its world-beating HD2 until Wednesday, but if you’ve a Walmart nearby and hankering to get HTC’s latest and greatest a few days early, it might be worth a trip out. JDMiPhoner managed to score one from his local Wally World a full four days early, and he’s been kind enough to unbox it, boot it up and give us a few first impressions on video. Is it really worth a couple of Benjamins with Windows Phone 7 Series just a few months away? Head on past …

Like it needed confirmation in the first place! SCEA president Jack Tretton has confirmed Killzone 3, stating that while he can’t guarantee any news on the game will be had at E3, he can promise that the game is on the way. Thus ends the worst kept secret in Sony’s bag of tricks.
“I’m saving the batter for E3. We will absolutely bring the heat,” says Tretton, weirdly, on the latest episode of GTTV. “… We own Guerrilla [Games] and they did a great job on Killzone 1 and 2. I don’t …
