Here’s the newest Fallout: New Vegas developer diary, this time chatting about the art direction for the latest in the post-apocalyptic roleplaying game.
You’ll notice that I have, somehow, accidentally uploaded the French version of the video. Please forgive the subtitles at the bottom. I would replace it, but I think none of us have been keeping up with our French lessons lately and could do with the refresher.
New Vegas is out in October and I really cannot wait!

When you spend your days talking about all manor of games, it’s easy to forget certain less-prominent titles exist, even when they’re as promising as something like Primal Carnage. We first mentioned it earlier this year, and that was pretty much it.
Thankfully, the boys at Rock, Paper, Shotgun have reminded me about the grand human vs. dinosaur conflict. There’s a new trailer, attached above, and quite a lot more on the website; most notably, the circle of death that is the Nemesis System and the acceptance of donations.
This somewhat recent …

You’ve been waiting, and it’s finally here: the Apple TV review. Months before Steve Jobs announced the new set top box at Apple’s annual fall event, we had been reporting on news that the company would strike out again into the TV market, offering a small, low-cost box that had more in common with the iPhone than the iMac. When those rumors came to fruition, we were presented with the completely revamped Apple TV — a tiny black puck of a device priced at a staggering $99, and centered around …

For the second time this year, UK retailer GAME announced the closure of stores following further financial losses. MCV reports the company plans to close 85 stores over the next three years, slimming down to 550 shops.
The closures are designed to reduce overlap between the company’s two brands (GAME and Gamestation) and “drive for greater cost efficiency” (i.e., cut general overhead). GAME’s chairman Peter Lewis noted that 70 percent of customers from stores closed earlier this year shifted to another GAME store. The other 30 percent went to another game …

Aren’t we over the zombie phase by now? I keep telling myself “Yes, we most certainly are.”
And then I get excited for stuff like AMC’s The Walking Dead, or even something as simple as the “Undead Nightmare Pack” for Red Dead Redemption. The latter hasn’t been shown yet, and it wasn’t until I got to thinking about my love of alternate-event history that I halfheartedly came on board.
Rockstar Games says the full teaser for the aforementioned downlodable content is due out on Thursday. For now, we have this sweet zombified …

Alternate title: Crazy people make equally crazy objects in Minecraft.
First, we have a 1:1 scale model of the Enterprise-D. Let that sink in for a minute. I can no longer play this game without feeling ashamed of my lackluster creations, that’s for damn sure. My city in the sky doesn’t seem quite so rad now.
Below, there’s a video of an arithmetic logic unit that was entirely set up inside of Minecraft, somehow. Who are you people!? The running theme with this game — to me, anyway — seems to be …

The NSA may have its ominously named Perfect Citizen program to guard against potential cyber attacks, but it looks like the U.S. government still isn’t quite satisfied with its surveillance capabilities in the age of the internet. As the New York Times reports, federal officials are now pushing for some expanding wiretapping regulations that would require any communications service — including everything from encrypted BlackBerry messages to Skype to social networking sites — to be “technically capable of complying if served with a wiretap order.” That, officials say, is necessary …

Where do bad memory cards go when they die? Probably somewhere very similar to this puppy, paintball, and tiny-hat filled obstacle course of doom. Warning: this video contains extreme SD brutality. More »

Electronic Arts believes that Wii owners will be tempted to upgrade to a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 thanks to Move and Kinect. According to Euro publishing chief, Jens Uwe Intat, the Wii has opened up a new audience, and Sony is set to capitalize.
“We’ve always hoped Nintendo would get new audiences into gaming with the Wii, and they’ve successfully done that,” says Intat. ”We also always hoped those people would later buy a next gen gaming machine that does stuff the Wii doesn’t do as well as the others and …
