Valve is still selling that special in-game gear for Team Fortress 2 to aid Japan, and the company will continue doing so until Wednesday, April 6.
For now, though, let’s check in to see how much money has been raised. (Just forget what you read in the headline and prepare to act surprised.) Over $300,000, as of yesterday. Either you guys adore those collectible hats, enjoy helping out those in need, or both. Warm fuzzies GET.
“Anytime someone gives you guff about something negative in gaming, you go ahead and point …

It may seem like there’s an abundance of robot news lately, but we’re just trying to please our mechanical overlords deliver the latest in gadget and technology news. What we’ve got here is an Arduino-based robo-gripper that serves only to move around and use its 3D printed claws to grab tiny objects that we’d otherwise be too lazy to pick up ourselves. At its community day in Hollywood this evening, Insomniac Games revealed that its upcoming shooter Resistance 3 will support PlayStation Move motion controls. Additionally, control support for the Sharp Shooter attachment is being worked in due to player demand, apparently.
“After Killzone 3 launched, we heard a massive amount of positive feedback, and were inundated with requests to support both PlayStation Move and sharp shooter,” writes Insomniac’s James Stevenson. “So we’re glad to be able to finally confirm the news!”
The title will also support Stereoscopic 3D, the developer said. Looks like …

Here’s some pre-alpha footage of Grim Dawn, an upcoming action-roleplaying-game from Titan Quest developer Crate Entertainment. The announcement of this game managed to pass me by, but looking at this video, it’s clear I need to keep an eye on it.
At this early stage of development, the game’s looking quite good. Pretty visuals and a somewhat tight combat system already seem to be in place, which I like. Most importantly, the artistic direction is terrific. I love how grisly the monsters look. Checking out …

Barack Obama is quite likely the most computer literate president (which isn’t saying much) these united states have ever had. So it’s really no surprise to hear that the BlackBerry wielding prez also owns an iPad and, gasp, his own computer — except, perhaps, to Univision’s Jorge Ramos. Obama’s incredulous stare and jocular response to the question are as hilarious as they are candid in their casual delivery. See for yourselves in the video after the break.

Humans are the worst at working cooperatively, so it falls to Aperture Science’s CEO Cave Johnson to sell you his robots as worthy substitutes.
Even though it feels like I’m the only person in the world who didn’t care about Portal, that stupid cake meme, or that song that got old after hearing it twice, I can’t help but be charmed by Valve’s short ads. Good job, robots!
