A committee of 25 Icelanders submitted the first draft of a rewritten constitution to the country’s parliamentary speaker Friday, and despite our recommendations, Rebecca Black was conspicuously absent from the proceedings. The democratic experiment bravely asked citizens to log on to Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, and Twitter to engage with the committee in a discussion about the nation’s future. While the project’s Facebook page played host to pleads for free ice cream and more volcanoes, the constitution’s creators managed to stay on task, focusing on issues of decentralization and transparency in …

Earlier this week, the Nielsen media research company posted a breakdown of Netflix and Hulu devices by usage. Though the PC is far and away the most common Hulu platform, the Netflix numbers are a tad more surprising.
While 42% of all Netflix customers use the PC, 12% use the Xbox 360, 13% use the PS3, and 25% use the Wii. Yes, you heard that correctly. The gaming console that lacks high definition and surround sound output is the most popular non-PC way to stream Netflix.
I know a few people who …

EA may have stepped on a few toes with the announcement of its Origin service and, depending on how you interpret some of the recent activity surrounding their games, you may think them entirely sinister. Regardless, it’s a business and even if you have no intention of giving Origin a chance, you’ve got to respect a solid effort.
In what is easily the service’s most appealing sale, just about all of EA’s more antiquated titles can be had for a measly $4.99. The Sims 2 and its expansions, Battlefield 2, Bad …

Fans of the PS1 classic Breath of Fire 4 can breathe a sigh of relief, or fire, or fiery relief, or reliefery fire, or… never mind. Breath of Fire 4 is scheduled to launch August 16 on PSN in the United States, according to a forum post from Capcom Senior VP Christian Svensson. Svensson also revealed that Breath of Fire PSN avatars will be available for purchase on launch day, “to celebrate,” probably because fireworks would be too predictable.
Breath of Fire 4 is set to heat up PSN in August …

We were thoroughly infatuated with LauncherPro developer Federico Carnale’s then-unnamed music app the first time we saw it in beta, bringing Metro UI styled playback to our Android lifestyles. Now UberMusic v1.0 is available on the Android Market, flexing its customizable skills for the princely sum of $3.49. Don’t think this is just some ripoff however, while one of the skins (that can also be found on the Market)is a Zune lookalike, third parties can make it look however they might like, including the widgets. If you missed our demo …

Say what you will about Activision as a publisher, but damn, those guys sure know how to put out incredible box art.
If and when I see Cabela’s Survival: Shadows of Katmai in a brick and mortar store, there’s a good chance I’ll rip off my shirt on the spot and proceed to buy the game in the manliest way possible. In this action game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii, your plane has crashed in Alaska — and every living creature is out to kill you, apparently.
Naturally, the Top …

Serious Sam 3: BFE publisher Devolver Digital has mocked Electronic Arts over its proprietary Origin service, sending out a press release to say that its own service, Krundle, was cancelled and that BFE will proudly come to Steam instead.
“I think we could have revolutionized how I make a shitload of money,” said CFO Fork Parker. “But the reality is Steam is an amazing digital platform. That’s where we want to distribute our top-tier titles like Serious Sam 3: BFE to generate the kind of revenue it takes to buy things …
