Sammy’s current Cortex A9-based chips are hardly slackers — the Galaxy Note already proved that to any lingering doubters. Nevertheless, the next-gen Exynos 5250 SoC promises to double that sort of performance, by harnessing two Cortex-A15 chips clocked at 2GHz each, along with a GPU that can output resolutions of up to 2560 x 1600 (WQXGA). It’s like big.LITTLE computing, except without the LITTLE. Samsung reckons it’ll start mass producing the 5250 for use in high-end tablets by the second quarter of next year, which should be just in time …

In news that will surprise only people who have never heard of Germany before, it has come to light that Dead Island‘s been banned … in Germany!
Deep Silver is not surprised, gamers are not surprised, and I doubt the German authorities are surprised. The publisher hadn’t even bothered to distribute Techland’s zombie slasher to the country, but officials have still slapped a “List B” designation on it, making the game an illegal product.
“This isn’t unexpected,” said a rep for the game. “Germany has its unique regulations regarding video games and …

Bodoink, a family-friendly XBLA Kinect title, which places player’s Avatars inside a giant pinball machine, is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter. The money raised will be put towards the game’s polish and “the final push for big fun.”
Developer Robomodo has a goal of $35,000, offering up spots in the credits of the game, along with posters and t-shirts for donations. Those who put up $5,000 or more receive an executive producer credit, likeness in the game and a studio tour — but they’ll have to pay their own way and …

Not content with brandishing a medley of LTE-packed smartphones this season, Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo has confirmed a December release for Sharp’s AQUOS SH-01D. While it lacks any 4G chops, the Android phone is cocooned in waterproof protection and packs a 12.1 megapixel camera on the back. An OMAP 4430 1GHz dual-core processor runs Gingerbread on the 3D-capable 1280 x 720 ASV display — all crammed inside a waifish 9.7mm frame. Despite a recent visit to the FCC, there’s no word on whether the water-defiant device will brave the Pacific …

Here’s a much more believable rumor for you on a sweet Sunday afternoon. It looks like Lego, DC comics, and Travelers Tales will be teaming up for a new Lego Batman game. This one will feature Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Lex Luthor, and a host of other DC comics heroes and villains.
The game is rumored to be released along side next year’s Dark Knight Rises film and a new series of DC Super Heroes Lego sets.
I really enjoyed the first Lego Batman title, but after completing it, I was …

So here’s the scoop. There is a free dating sim for PC called Hatoful Boyfriend. You play as a school girl who dates pigeons… I think.
I haven’t been able to get the game running on my PC yet, so I can’t be sure, but here is what tipster hipster and Katamari t-shirt designer Linzb0t has to say about the game”…basically you are a human lady attending an all bird academy. There are a variety of birds there you can woo, including your best friend; a rock dove, your math teacher; …

You’ve always wanted a bit more privacy with your monitor (porn jokes notwithstanding) and if you’re willing to tear apart a spare LCD monitor and a pair of 3D theater glasses (thanks, Dreamworks and Pixar!), you’ll get it. In lieu of a thicker tinfoil hat, Instructables‘ dimovi suggests removing the LCD’s frame, cutting out its polarized film with a utility knife before removing the screen’s film adhesive with a combination of cleaner and paint thinner and reassembling the monitor. Once complete, grab the glasses, cut out the lenses and combine …
