The DJs of the world can breathe a sigh of relief, because if this video is any indication, it’s going to be a long time before they’re in jeopardy of losing gigs to robots. More »

I was reading this very nice article on Gamasutra about the dearth of legitimate homosexual characters in videogames, and was particularly struck by writer Andrew Meade’s suggestion at the end — make Nathan Drake gay. Now, before you laugh that suggestion off as little more than a silly bit of joking, I would like to state that I agree with Meade — and I am deathly serious about it.
I am fully aware that the Uncharted series is Naughty Dog’s property, and that Nathan Drake is its creation. I would never …

Torrentfreak has published its list of the most pirated games of 2011, a favorite end-of-year controversy for gamers around the world. The pirated software is broken up by system, with quite different results for each. No PS3 figures were released.
On PC, Crysis 2 walked away the “winner” with an estimate download total of 3,920,000. On the Wii, 2010′s Super Mario Galaxy 2 topped the chart with 1,280,000, while Gears of War 3 beat the competition on Xbox 360 to the tune of 890,000.
Those are some big figures, and likely plenty of ammo for …

While we’re not sure if the Android version of GTA 3 is as disappointing as on iPad, it does have one perk over its iOS cousin: mods. Many have discovered modding the Android port is much like modding the PC game — one can simply add files to the directory on the SD card.
Because the Android and PC versions are so similar, it turns out most PC mods are compatible. So it’s fairly easy to add custom cars — a souped-up taxi can be seen in the video above — …

Celebrity headphone endorsements are very a la mode right now, and we’ve seen Ed Hardy’s trademark tattoo stylings defacing gadgetry before, so, if you were the one lamenting the glaring omission that was Hardy-branded cans, then he obviously got your letter. The new “Stereo” range evidently refers to the two designs available thus far: Skull and Bones for the over-ears ($66), while your in-ears get some Tiger power ($29). The in-ears also feature a microphone, presumably so you can call for help from the fashion police. Both are available now.
Ed …

Ghostland Observatory is the square peg for your round ear holes with its self-described sound of “a robot making love to a tree.” They are really f*cking weird but their music is flat-out fantastic. More »

It’s been quite some time, but the second episode of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has finally been unveiled. The first teaser trailer made an appearance on GameSpot (skip to 1:16 in the video above) and it’s already announced some significant additions.
Metal Sonic will be the episode’s big villain, and Tails is returning. Sadly, no gameplay has been revealed, but Sonic brand overlord Ken Balough has confirmed that the oft-maligned physics from Episode 1 have been fixed, with the hedgehog better resembling his Genesis counterpart.
Hopefully, those people who were freaking out …

We’ve already seen a few benchmarks and other hints that they’d soon be shipping, and Intel has now officially announced that its new Cedar Trail Atom processors are finally available, with the first systems using them set to roll out early next year. The two chips you’ll likely be seeing the most of are the Atom N2600 and N2800 — both dual-core, and both designed for use in netbooks, where they promise to allow for up to ten hours of battery life and “weeks of standby,” and offer support for …
