This trailer for the impressive-looking Total War: Rome II recounts the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest, where Germanic tribes — united by the son of a chieftain who was taken hostage as a child and raised in Rome — ambushed three Roman legions. If that doesn’t sound like a good setup, wait until you see what Teutoburg Forest looks like.
The battle serves as a good showcase for some of Rome II‘s features, including what’s being referred to as a “true” line-of-sight system and ambush scenarios. Seeing such a grand game …

Gran Turismo 6 was nonchalantly announced as a current-gen PlayStation 3 game by Michael Denny, SCEE’s senior vice president, in an interview with Silicon Republic.
“Look at the games coming out on the PlayStation 3, like The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, GT6,” Denny said with confidence. He also mentioned a new Assassin’s Creed for PS3, before today’s reveal. Denny is a real rule breaker!
Considering the long development time on Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo titles and the  history of having two per console generation, this isn’t actually that surprising. …

The latest add-on for Square Enix’s open-world action game, Sleeping Dogs, is available now for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. “Wheels of Fury” adds five new missions and a “weaponized supercar” to Wei Shen’s quest. Fully equipped, the DZS-90 boasts two roof-mounted machine guns, an electromagnetic pulse weapon, four-wheel steering and the less palpable luxury of exuded intimidation.
Wheels of Fury is available for $3.99 (or 320MSP if you’re on Xbox). You can see the DZS-90 in action in the gallery below.

Every now and then, I stumble upon something written by somebody else that I find interesting enough to share with you, my lovely readers. They needn’t be written by developers or pundits, either. Take, for example, this humble post from an N4G user — an argument that PlayStation Network is better than Steam.
“Most people who come across this, will most likely disagree,” concedes the writer. “I mean Steam has great holiday sales, cool free games, and memorable games from earlier gens. Ya, I love all of those things about Steam. …

With Sony’s latest flagship making its UK debut this week, what better way to celebrate than giving one away? The kind people at Expansys have donated a device for one lucky reader in the UK, while the handset is still only open to pre-orders. If you’ve entered one of our giveaways before, you may think you know the drill — but hold up there sonny, as things have changed. Head past the break, and you’ll be greeted with our new super competition entry machine (well, widget). Now you …

Beginning today in North America, for every $50 you spend using your Sony Entertainment Network Wallet, you’ll receive $10 back in April. This offer lasts through the end of March and anything purchased through the SEN — whether that be games, movies, or a subscription to PlayStation Plus — is considered applicable. Pretty sweet deal, actually.
Sony’s got the full terms of the promotion over here. I still need to pick up Ni no Kuni at some point, so maybe this will be enough to convince me to go with the …

I agree with Conan on this one. I don’t care how it’s supposed to be pronounced; everyone has always spoken her name aloud as “Laura.”
Conan O’Brien is on top of the new Tomb Raider this week. Naturally, he makes all the obvious horndog jokes — up until someone from management or whatever tells him to tone it down. Oooooooh! Someone got in trooooooubllllllllllle!
And his reactions when Lara dies (repeatedly) are golden.

Strap on your Log Pose, because the crew of the Thousand Sunny is heading for the New World! After their inaugural voyage last year on the PS3, the Strawhat Pirates are coming back with new skills, new allies and new enemies. In this new trailer, we get to take a closer look at Luffy’s crew and what kind of skills they bring to the table.
It seems that One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 will focus more on the more current story arcs of the manga and anime. For those who haven’t been keeping up …
