Behold, a teaser trailer for the upcoming Payday live-actin web series. The teaser stars Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf, and Chains as they get ready to pull off some heists in Washington D.C. Episode one should be launching in a week or so.
Obviously this is all aimed at hyping up Payday 2, which will be out this August in North America for Steam, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

Jasper Byrne, creator of Soundless Mountain, Lone Survivor, and the upcoming release New Game+ had a lot of new info to share with us on last weeks Sup Holmes (now on iTunes). We heard about the new graphics, new content, and new controls for the PS3 and PS Vita versions of Lone Survivor, how the music will play an integral part in New Game+, how Zelda, Dark Souls, Monster Hunter, and Dungeons and Dragons influenced its development, and so much more.
Probably the biggest bombshell was that all the new content coming to …

Are we past the point where I can stop warning people about spoilers? Well just in case, don’t watch this if you haven’t beaten BioShock Infinite yet. Actually, this won’t even make sense until you have gotten all the way through the game.
For those of you who have played all the way through, enjoy this what if scenario had things ended differently for Booker, Elizabeth, and other familiar faces from Columbia.

The last time we had Jasper Byrne on Sup Holmes, he had just released his critically acclaimed survival horror title Lone Survivor. Like his Silent Hill 2 remake Soundless Mountain II, Jasper made Lone Survivor largely on his own. Unlike Soundless Mountain II, Lone Survivor was that you could pay for, which was something Jasper was not used to. The transition from being a freeware developer to a for-profit indie brings brings with it some interesting psychological challenges.
Now Lone Survivor is headed to the PS3 and the PS Vita, which likely …

Do you remember your first holographic Pokemon card? I do, it was a Dewgong. I loved that card; it meant so much to me. In an apparent attempt to capture that same feeling, Valve has introduced Foil cards to its new line of Steam trading cards.
These cards are being sold anywhere from $10 to $70 on the Community Market. It doesn’t seem as if people are actually buying them at the higher-end prices, but that hasn’t stopped people from selling them. Protip: don’t buy these for high prices, the prices will …

City Interactive has had an interesting past, but its latest game, Lords of the Fallen, sounds intriguing. Announced as a 2014 title for next-generation consoles and PC, its story is centered around a world where “the gods have failed mankind,” which is a sentence I’m eager to type. There’s now an “unstoppable supernatural force” that must be put to an end by a human named Harkyn. That’s us, by the way.
Tomasz Gop, who was the senior producer on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, will be heading up development on …

Triple Town developer Spry Fox’s new game is indeed inspired by the Robert Frost poem “The Road Not Taken.” Aren’t you glad we got that out of the way early? Described as a puzzle game blended with roguelike elements, Road Not Taken is understandably a bit coy at the moment.
The teaser trailer for this PC (and eventual mobile) title is quite lovely, even if it does more teasing than trailering. That said, we at least got a hint of gameplay here. Road Not Taken has artist Brent “Meowza” Kobayashi (Glitch) …

Anno Online will cease operations for its closed beta tomorrow and will enter a full, public open testing session. As an aside, all progress through the closed and open beta will not be wiped, so don’t feel limited in that regard.
Ubisoft notes that as a result of flipping over the beta, the game will experience a brief downtime tomorrow morning at 4AM EST. If you were a part of the closed beta, you’ll net a free week of challenges and a mystery gift once the open period starts.
As I said …

Last Sunday of Sup Holmes (now on iTunes) we were joined by Sean, Woz, and Erin of Yacht Club Games. We got the full scoop how their debut game Shovel Knight has managed to gather so much attention (and money), why they left Wayforward to start the new studio, where their name came from, all the excitement and fear that comes from setting off on their own, and which NES Mega Man game is the worst (Hint: it’s the one that is obviously the worst).
If you want more from the gang at …

Simulation fans have had quite a storied history of games to choose from. While the genre may seem homogenized to outside viewers, sim-nuts can’t get enough of the technical nuances of each title, and although they may look similar, it’s one of the most varied genres out there.
Although the Anno series was one of my go-to games, it wasn’t until Anno 2070 that I really became a fan. Two years later, Ubisoft Blue Byte is handling the all-new Anno Online, which seeks to marry the city-building genre with a persistent …
