Stylish elegance. That seductive red color. No, this isn’t a Television commercial for some new vehicle. We’re just stating how much we’ve fallen in love with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue’s Ferrari F2007. Just look at those sleek curves. The detail on this baby is so life-like it’s hard to believe that this is just a digital rendering.

Do you share in our excitement? Interested in seeing more? You can have a better look at the F1 vehicle in the gallery below. Sony’s Three Speech blog has even more pics to drool over, so be sure to check them all out.

If you love your Blu-ray library, you’ll love this week’s deal at Target. Seems that they’re offering a new “buy one get one free” deal. By that we mean 11 selected titles are available at 50% off — the titles they selected are actually pretty good. The only downside is that the majority of Blu-ray-o-philes might have most of these already. Still, not a bad deal to get these at $15 a piece. Here’s the list of choose titles, so get your hunt on:

  • Casino Royale
  • Spiderman 3
  • Live Free or Die Hard
  • Ocean’s Thirteen
  • 300
  • Saw IV
  • 3:10 to Yuma
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End
  • The Simpson’s Motion picture
  • The Game Plan
  • Ratatouille

[Thanks, Jonathon!]

Ubisoft representatives reaffirmed that Haze will remain a PS3 exclusive at the recent Play.com Live event. According to Ripten, “they stated in a resolute fashion that the game isn’t just a PS3 timed exclusive, but will never make its way onto any other platform.”

Good news? Perhaps. But our very own Jem Alexander attended the Live event, where he was able to play the hotly anticipated FPS. Apparently, “the company presented an underwhelming single-player demo which never managed to really amaze.” Unfortunately, the demo lacked the visual flair expected of a PS3 exclusive: “the environments didn’t seem particularly inspired and boasted only a minimal level of destructibility.” And the gameplay? Well, you can read more.

We know that there are many that are seriously anticipating this release, touting it as a strong reason to pick up the PS3. However, this initial hands-on doesn’t have our expectations high. Perhaps it was simply a bad demonstration. However, unless things shape up in the final build, this is one “exclusive” that we wouldn’t mind losing to a multiplatform release.

Excuse us if this post has a bit of a tone, but this whole thing is a bit ridiculous. Other sites are reporting that their sources are saying that Sony “has something big to announce at E3 this year.” We should hope so, too! Saying that Sony has announcements to make at the world’s most prominent video game show of the year is a little bit like saying a dog will win “Best in Show” at Crufts next year.

With the lack of any big news coming out of GDC, and no word yet on when Sony will be hosting their next Gamer’s Day, all eyes are on E3 for the huge news of the year. Sure we know quite a lot of what’s coming in 2008, but if you think Sony doesn’t have anything up their sleeves then you’re crazy. Likewise, Nintendo and Microsoft will be making some huge announcements at the event that will “give [them] a boost heading into the holidays.” That’s kind of the point of E3.

We’re counting this as a rumor simply because new Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII footage is a pretty huge leap of faith for us to take. Insert your “only the penitent man shall pass” Indy quotes here. Anyway, the new footage is going to be unveiled at the PS Premiere event … that’s all we know. That’s not entirely true — we have the rumored contents of the footage. Bulleted list, here we go:

  • There will be a 3-4 minute video showing a three person party fighting on some plains.
  • The battle camera will give you motion sickness, according to the original poster.
  • The final design of Final Fantasy Versus XIII’s antagonist will be revealed. Apparently he has long gold or white hair — not stereotypical at all.

While it may not sound like much, enthusiasts will drool if the video is released to the public. It’s unknown whether or not the video will be behind shut doors or not. If it is, then the video might as well not exist since nobody will see it.

These new Red Alert 3 screens really show off the new focus on naval combat. Take a long hard look at the photos. Do you see the underwater wreckage there? That’s a pretty neat visual effect. At first we were thinking they were underwater facilities. Imagine that. Now that would’ve been even cooler.

If you don’t watch a lot of TV then you might miss these Gran Turismo 5 Prologue commercials. Or they’re only airing in Europe. Or if you do watch a lot of Television and see these, you might want to see them again. So here are two TV spots for the upcoming driving simulator — and they look spectacular. The second one can be found after the jump, because we don’t want to put too much awesome up front and overwhelm you. Plus it’s a lot longer.

GameDaily had a chat with Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley about the recent Sony corporate shuffle and what’s going to happen to SOE as a result of this. According to Smedley, the change is “an opportunity and not a restriction” as SOE will have better proximity to SCE and will possibly develop more intimately for the PS3.

He backed up his opportunity claim by stating that console MMOs have a huge potential for growth as consoles are stable online-capable platforms, and already have a massive user-base. He even states that console-based MMOs could possibly rival the success of World of Warcraft.

“Console on the internet gaming in general I think is going to be one of the next large phases of growth in the online gaming space,” said Smeldey. With SOE currently working on PS3 versions of The Agency, a DC universe MMO, and Free Realms, there’s no doubt the company is putting action to words. However, could any of you see any one of these titles possibly going toe-to-toe with the king of MMOs? Console MMOs as World of Warcraft beaters, perhaps not yet. Superior console MMOs soon? Most likely.
