EVE players given 50k skill points due to DDoS downtime

EVE Online recently ran into some technical difficulties the other day because of a distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS), and the servers were offline for several hours. Of course players didn’t like not having access to the game, so as way of saying “sorry for the downtime,” CCP is issuing all active players 50,000 skill points to use as they see fit.

Reviews Elsewhere: Remember Me

Remember Me has had an odd build up. It’s been promoted decently, talked about a lot, but a highly vocal contingent of gamers had been lukewarm on it since it was first announced, and there was a pervasive cynicism regarding its eventual worth. I didn’t get why, but apparently some of you are just prophetic.
In our review, I found the game to be decent, but nowhere near good enough to justify its lofty pretensions of import and innovation. As fellow writer Chris Carter accurately puts it, the game is a …

China and the US Are Going to Sit Down and Talk About All This Hacking

China’s been hacking up a storm recently, up to and including stealing sensitive confidential weapon designs from the US. Things started coming to something of a head early last month, when the Pentagon finally directly accused China of being the perpetrator of all this cyber-tretchery. Now, according to the New York Times, a nice little hacking-chat has been scheduled between the two powers.
